| Wow! Forty-two hundred bucks for an incomplete TEC #31! Amazing. I owned a copy of this comic once, for about a day. I worked in a comic book store back in the 80's and a copy came in. It was beat up to hell, but whole and complete. I asked the guy working the desk what it would cost. He broke out the Overstreet and pegged it at $50. I thought it over, and thought some more, and then finally decided, sure, why not? When the hell would I have another chance at a (then) 40 year old comic book? One of the first Batman comics? No telling. Well, turns out the owner was planning on selling it for $250! Will (the guy who sold it to me) called me at home that night in a panic. He got in so much trouble, would I PLEASE sell it back to the store? Of course I said I would, and brought it back the next day. But I VERY CAREFULLY looked at it first. Now I wish I'd found another $200 bucks somewhere. But at the time, that was WAY overpriced. Especially at just $3.35 an hour. Quote: Originally Posted by poka |
