Well..... not quite the magnitude of @CatmanAmerica Golden Age Gems, but im excited none the less to have received another high quality Sgt. Rock book today.

Another Joe Kubert masterpiece as that Kraut is about to be on the receiving end of a Sgt. Rock knuckle sandwich!

Im not sure yet, but I might crack this book out to get a closer look and view the interior art and Story.

met Steranko back in October. Had him sign this. Definitely not a book you see slabbed often, even less so with his sig.

Nice! Im not a devoted collector of many moderns, but I am a big Greg Capullo Fan, as well as a Batman Fan.

I really like the look of the New 52 Batman books and I may even have an interest in working on a set(run).

I just don't seem to know enough about it.

Batman New 52 #1 ???????
Regular 1st print
Regular 2nd Print
Ethan Van Sciver Variant
Warner Bros VIP Studio Tour Variant

From just my brief snooping I found the above 4 Variants on Issue #1. How many more are there? If any?

This variant cover stuff is a big reason I don't do much modern stuff. It's just to confusing and it seems to demean the the issue itself as a whole. OK rant over

I would likely just opted for the original Regular 1st Prints, but its hard not being swayed off track by some of the Variant covers like the one above.

Guess I'll have to mull it over.

@BigRedOne1944

I did some digging & found some info on these fantastic books! Some are self explanatory but the variants are what I was curious about also. (Compiled from comic book realm.com & CLZ Comics)

1. ASM Vol. 3 #1.1 Midtown-B (J. Scott Campbell Midtown Comics Exclusive Connecting B&W Sketch Variant)
2. ASM Vol.4 #15 Turner-A (Michael Turner AspenStore.com Color Variant)
3. ASM Vol.4 #15 Turner-B (Michael Turner AspenStore.com B&W Sketch Variant)
4. Batman Vol.2 #1B (Ethan Van Sciver Variant)
5. Batman Vol.2 #2B (Jim Lee 1:25 Retailer Incentive Variant)
6. Batman Vol.2 #3B (Ivan Reis 1:25 Retailer Incentive Variant)
7. Batman Vol.3 #1DF-B (Jae Lee Dynamic Forces Exclusive B&W Variant)
8. The Dark Knight III: The Master Race #1Dynamic-B (Jae Lee Dynamic Forces Exclusive B&W Variant)
9. The New 52: Futures End #20
10. Middlewest TPB #1
11. Wolverine Vol.2 #1
12. Starfire Vol.2 #1B (Emmanuela Lupacchino Variant)

From what I could find on the Batman books there’s 5 variants of #1 (not including the 2nd-5th prints), 2 variants of #2 & 2 variants of #3 (also not including the 2nd print). πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ»πŸΊ

The Folio Society set (sans Marvel Comics #1 displayed earlier)...

The oversized hardcover has a much bluer cover than depicted in my iPad photo. The lighting over my pool table skewed toward gray for some reason. The presentation box has a beautiful foil design featuring an array of Timely characters. There is also an 8” by 10” print by a contemporary artist.

Original Captain Marvel #1! Duh. (Lol)

I love the original Captain Marvel but I understand many folks don’t give him the respect he deserves.

@Batman66 you said 'the 68 main characters' then only listed like six characters, so it's kind of hard to say who you might be missing. I guess about 62 of them?

He is most likely referencing the big split in 68 when marvel did away with tales to astonish, Tales of suspense and Strange tales to give away to Thor...Iron man, Hulk , sub mariner, etc

@xkonk gac mentioned nick fury 1, I didn't think of that. Mainly talking about the 68 era where they got their own titles

Im not sure who you might be over looking, but that is one fine looking sub-Mariner book! Beautiful cover wrap really makes all the difference!

Ah, I see. I hadn't heard that phrase before. Best I can tell from wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_in_comics), Nick Fury like @GAC said. Looks like you've got your bases covered otherwise.
