@KeepItClunky Beautiful books you posted! Especially these two. Kind of unfortunate on the cover wrap on the Spidey book. The FF book is outstanding! congratulations on all of the great books you posted. Thanks for sharing them with us.
thanks. wasn't expecting a 9.8, so the wrap matters less here to me. Tougher black cover too.
In 9.8 that spidey rings in around 1950 dollars so yeah I wouldnt let that wrap thing worry you just a whole lot....nice book

Wow! for that kind of money I think most potential buyers would be looking for a much better wrap.

@KeepItClunky You've got a 9.8 silverage Spidey! That's incredible!! I don't think most would even consider it a miswrap. A very thin white space between the art and the staples, looks fantastic!! Great book man!!

yep. Thanks again. Considering I probably paid about $20 for this book back in the day, no complaints here. Last 9.8 sale was over 2K I believe. I think I did ok despite what the wrap police say 😊

ugh..just got bill from heritage...such crooks! I came off of Comic connect from earlier in day with some great buys and my bill had zero fees and zero taxes (or was it CL..dont remember). I literally paid what I bid plus shipping. I sign up for heritage cuz in browsing I saw these books...knew they had a buyers fee but kept bid just about at FMV. The sticker shock came when I saw it on paper:

2400 in winning bids...ok..fine...books are worth that...but I owe them 3200 in fees nd taxes?!?! Thats ridiculous. Do they take a cut from the seller too? loan sharks.

do the GPA values at least reflect total cost ..does GPA even use heritage data? won't be using them again

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
@Watcher wasn't comiclink. I just had some wins with them, final cost includes shipping, sales tax, and buyer fee.

On your heritage win I hope it was supposed to be 320 and not 3200?

must been CC...I absolutely only paid my bid and shipping.

This heritage is turning into a disaster...

First...it was 1100 and 1300 for those two books (sounds like I over paid judging by your comment )

Then...they hit me with 800 in fees and taxes...absurd!!

Then..I went to pay and decided to save 2.5% and used a Echeck..
well...I grabbed a check book from a old account that I haven't used in years but was still open with like 50.00 in it..had to call the bank and cancel...30.00 charge...then call heritage and cancel...embarrassed as well...then

I had to pay with my credit card to avoid looking like a shyster with another e-check...and there goes another 70.00 in fees.

so my 2400 in purchases just jumped to 3300 and it'll be 10 years before those books are worth that ...

im too old to be screwing up like this
rookie mistakes

hopefully one of you guys can tell me how to save that Cap 6 book since only the married page (14) was trimmed. since its already married, cant I just replace that page with another page 14 and get the "trimmed" off the label..cuz at least that'd be manageable.

Should work provided you can closely match the staple placement and the holes fit fairly well. Trick will be finding that particular wrap but you might get lucky and find a coverless or copy missing other wraps ...

GPA does use heritage data but I am unsure if they add all the fees and stuff as well...I dont use heritage so I couldn't say for sure.

I did shadow those two books in the GPA ...the CBCS slab wont come up cause GPA only uses CGC sales..but the last Crime Suspenstories 22, in 2.0 does show selling December 2019 for 1560 dollars. You can compare that with your mileage and see what they are or are not using I am guessing

Oh, I misunderstood your post. I thought you meant you paid $2400 in bids and then *another* $3200 in fees, which seemed obviously wrong. You meant it was $3200 total. Even so, I'm with you that $800 in add-ons is quite a shock. Do you have a breakdown of how much is shipping, tax, and buyer fee?

It would be the sales tax and 2.5% credit card fee if that was used

This is the invoice from last night.
My winning bid $165.
Plus buyers premium bumps it up to $198
Then add shipping
Then sales tax on top of that.
Then I'll be charged a additional $6 for credit card processing fee.
Whenever I bid on heritage I always keep in mind the fees so I'm still just a smidge under say go collect FMV

here's a quick pic of the sale....I circled what the books sold for and the total is at the bottom. it all makes sense, it's more about the sticker shock at the end of the day. That's a pretty big difference and I probably should have been patient and grabbed these in a sales group or CGC boards because 3300 would have bought a lot lot of book compared to what I got ..hard lesson, but now I know to be patient

@Watcher I can confirm that GoCollect's FMV #'s do not include any auction house fees. It's straight cost of the books won. So no inflated valuations.
