That devil dinosaur cover always makes me laugh, its an ongoing battle with artists to never seemingly research the dinosaur they draw....

Notice the differences in teeth, the orbits or fenestrae opening of the skull and their sizes and so forth....

Well when you see what comic book artists do to women, it's going to really crack you up. Apparently they don't research those either.

It cannot be worse than the way Rob Liefeld draws Captain America.

I am sure that they were given artistic freedom to draw

That being said, my personal favourites are Superman and the Legion of Super Heroes, specifically the Silver Age Legion. Lots of great stories and art in those old gems. I just figure when I'm gone, my sons will cash in for whatever they can get and I'm OK with that.

I couldn't agree more about those eighties Indies titles. I love Howard Chaykin's American Flaag as well. Over the years Ive tied to assemble and persevere both those titles with pristine looking books. I have a few Jon Sable's as well but I always gravitated more to the Grim Jack and Flaag titles.

I think what makes them so appealing is that they were more sophisticated and mature story lines and a breath of fresh air from the standard super hero books of the time. They most certainly have stood the test of time as well.

Ok, I'm not a fan of moderns and variants, but that cover is pretty cool. I have no idea what the story is about, but that cover would make me want to know more.

@EbaySeller it is a NYC gangland tale of violence.

This is a variant cover of the main character painted over New York subway transit maps.

The Joker smile is an acrylic remarque painted on the book.

I had forgotten about those John Byrne Charlton covers. I remember searching for them when he got big with the X-men.

@EbaySeller I just love the TV show Space 1999. Presently accessable with Amazon prime. Think Byrne did 4 covers and interiors and story in issue 6. I already had number 6 and with the 6 books bought off Ed I have the complete series now 👍

Man, that sucks about #3. I’m dreading the day I miss restoration or something similar in one of my submissions. Killer books to have, though.

@southerncross

EMERGENCY! Always loved watching Roy & Johnny "Squad 51"

Wonder why Johnny got the top billing over Roy on the book with the corner logo?

What is on the Back Cover of the book? Ads?
