Planet Comics #5110713

As others have already said, Golden Age collecting is super addictive! Just added this gorgeous book to my personal collection:

Question for the serious Golden Agers on the board. I’ve seen other copies with much different cover colors (more reds, especially in her dress and background). Is this simply due to aging, or was it part of the printing process? Is a fair amount of fading acceptable for Golden Age books while still maintaining a higher grade? Not that I’m complaining but surprised to see this book receive an 8.0 when comparing it to others with more vibrant colors. There is a CGC 9.4 copy on eBay going for $4K. Too rich for my blood, but WOW...what a beautiful comic!

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
Very hot golden age series.

Most of my consignments got cleared out last year.

I think three books sold within the same week at one point.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
One of the notes on that one is 'sun shadow', so I assume the colors are off from what they were originally.

If I could, I would. I swear. DrWatson private msg quote post Address this user
That is a nice book, but I'm guessing that it might be a little sun faded.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I thought it might be a fading issue. Probably not all that uncommon for a 70+ year old comic. Does this have a drastic impact on grading? If it had brighter colors could it have been a 9.0, for instance?
