Good eye! I will go with 54. Don’t know why I have such a problem remembering that every week.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thought it might be fun to reflect on some of the more memorable Lions thanksgiving day games over the years.

The earliest turkey day game I have a vivid memory of was back in 1979, when the Lions absolutely crushed the defending world champion Pittsburgh Steelers. I think the final score was something like 45-3. In 1983 the Lions battled back to force overtime against the hated (sorry @comic_book_man ) Chicago Bears, only for the Bears to return the overtime kickoff for a touchdown. I thought my grandfather was going to have a heart attack that day! Then there was the infamous “coin toss game” in the late ‘90s, again vs the Steelers, which actually prompted a rule change as to how the coin toss is conducted.

The last thanksgiving day game I attended in person was 2016 against the Vikings, when Darius Slay picked off a Sam Bradford pass in the fourth quarter to seal the victory for the Lions. The mood was a little different in the 1996 thanksgiving day loss to the Chiefs at the Silverdome, where I remember chanting “Wayne must go!” along with thousands of other fans who had more than enough of former Lions coach Wayne Fontes.

Hopefully this year’s thanksgiving day memory will be rookie QB David Blough coming off the practice squad to lead the Lions to victory against the Chicago Bears.

Anyone else have any thanksgiving football memories to share?

Maybe today the fans will be chanting "Patricia must go" Him and his pencil. I do hope the Lions can put up a good win today on national tv.

I always enjoyed John Madden's commentary and the 6 legged turkeys.

Damn,.. I really thought Detroit was going to nail the game on that last drive.

The Lions keep giving up the lead too late in the games. It is frustrating to see. Blough looked pretty good especially in the first half.

@BrianGreensnips Stafford is the 4th quarter comeback king, he was missing.

I picked Dallas to win the next game today, and not because not because I'm rooting for them. Here's hoping Buffalo kicks their ass. Also, if BUFF wins this should nail Jason Garrett's coffin shut.

The Lions blow a fourth quarter lead seemingly every week. Patricia is not living up to his reputation as a defensive coach. It’s not even like the blown leads are against superior competition; the last two opponents, Washington and Chicago, are both among the most inept offenses in football. Something needs to change here. Either DC Paul Pasqualoni will (deservedly) be the fall guy or there will be a complete regime change. Standing pat after this season is just not an option.

Same here, but the Cowboys were supposed to win,..in their own house,..on Thanksgiving,...and against Buffalo. LOL

Last week when they lost to New England, a game Dallas should have won, Jerry Jones was putting coaches on the hot seat. After their loss yesterday to Buffalo, Jerry commented, "I have Jason Garrett's back, and Jason has my back". What a crock of crap. I think Jerry is just as bad for Dallas as Jason is. Which doesn't hurt my feelings any.
