So I was looking through some books to put up for sale the other day, and as usual I find myself looking at the older ads. Remembering the toys and TV shows from those days. I found a list of comics for sale in a 1981 Moon Knight #10. I know there are alot of things to change in this world if we had a time machine. But I wouldn't mind a few AMS #50 for $8. Check out some of these prices. |

Fill me up a short box worth of Amazing 129s for $2.50 each. It's funny that Punisher isn't even mentioned.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. | xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
Still some great prices there, but also keep in mind that $10 in 1980 is $30 now due to inflation.

On Jan 1, 1981 the US Minimum wage went up to $3.35 When I was collecting and buying comics in the 80's/early 90's condition was a factor but not nearly as big a deal as today. If someone has a Giant Sized X-Men 1 for 50 bucks it could have been a 3 to an 8 and it was the same price. (my experiences may vary from yours) The proliferation of professional grading has really driven prices through the roof. |

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. | drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
I remember ordering from one of these ads and the company was out of stock when I tried to buy 10 copies of Wolverine Limited Series # 1 for $1.00 each. I got some of the items I ordered but they gave me a a form with a credit for $16.20 on the out of stock items that I never used so they ended up with the money for those items. I can't remember the rest of the details of the order but was very disappointed about not getting the Wolverine books. |
