What are some of your favorite weapons in comics? I’m not talking about weapons that are a part of a character, like Wolverines claws. I’d like to see guns, swords, knives or anything else that you find intriguing.

I was reminded of Jon Sable’s broomhandle pistol in the weekly contest thread. So, here he is ....

@Jesse_O - I also loved Grell’s Jon Sable character. But like I said in my earlier post about the Cover Contest, THIS is the original broomstick handle pistol from the comics that I feel in love with.

well my grandson liked the gun on this spawn cover so I fired up the 3D printer and a few parts later some super glue and a airbrushing and wala… Then he said Grandpa I need a cool costume for Trick R Treat.. So a bunch of parts and out popped Mel's gun from firefly then a helmet.. so here it all is..

@Gotlift that’s very cool that you did that for your grandson!

Here’s two more I thought of.

And as others have posted, a lot can be said for a good blade, especially in the hands of a Mercenary like John Guant AKA Grim Jack

Posted this Schomburg classic in the grail thread as it's certainly one of those. Then it was suggested that this puppy would also fit nicely in Jesse's favorite comic book weapons thread. Well, that's just too tempting to resist...

Apparently Golden Age Sub-mariner is up for that challenge!

That Human Torch #5 has got to be one of the most compelling covers of all time. If I were a kid in the '40s I would have stolen a dime if that's what it took to read that book.

Assuming more than one comic book weapon can be listed among favorites, Alex's final WWII cover for Marvel Mystery must be included ...

Note: The newsstand date for this issue was July 17, 1945; the release of atomic bombs on Hiroshima & Nagasaki ...the first and most horrifyingly effective use of WMD in history... occurred on August 6th & 9th 1945.

As an added bonus, here's his stunning recreation of the original...

The late great artist had a lot of cool ideas for bizarre weapons!

Serious question...
Remember that shark repellent Batman used in that Adam West movie? Was that ever used in the comics?
