What book was 9.2 that you sold and were you pleased with what you got?

It was Spawn 1 newsstand I bought it raw off eBay thought it was going to be at least a 9.4, but I still made a profit so I am not mad....

Precisely my point.
I did submit books because I knew 90 would become 275. I also knew people would not submit and then purchase the 275 because of laziness.
Voila!
I think the lesson is we have to depend on people being lazy, misinformed, and just plain not all there so that the ones that aren't lazy, misinformed, and are somewhat there can reap the rewards.

I sold a 9.6 direct for 300 but that was before the announcement, McFarlane sig sell, so do Jim Lee. A lot of the new guys charging aren’t really worth it atm, at least to send to a third party for signing where you get charged twice....

The practice of not being able to get a yellow label just because the creator said so needs to stop IMO, price differences for graded and non graded need to stop. At least Neal Adams charges everyone a ridiculous amount lol

Yes, apparently the latest CGC method of avoiding Newton rings is to scour the slab a bit, to prevent the optical interaction between the inner and outer plastic. As a consequence, a lot of my listings at MCS are listed with some variation of the following: "Scuffing on front of case; Scuffing to inner well of case."

I sold a Four Color 1173 (1st Twilight Zone) to an Ebay Buyer who I had made multiple purchases from over the years. All of the previous feedbacks back and forth were positive each time.

He received the book, immediately wanted to return it due to Oil in the slab. I didn't blink and eye and kindly said sure return the book; no problem at all.

I went to buy from him the other day a Gold Key, I noticed I was blocked from purchasing from him.

So long story short - Newton Rings has prevented me from purchasing from a buyer I usually bought from. Good news - I didn't realize he's a jerk and I don't/cant buy from him anymore

He probably doesn't understand that the CGC cases have that issue with the oil slick/newton ring look to them, something that is completely out of your control. If you hadn't already, have you thought about reaching out to him and explaining to him that it is a CGC case issue and that many people have the problem? If he doesn't follow the hobby as much as most others, he simply could be unaware and you explaining perhaps may get him to understand it more and maybe unblock you. But to be honest, blocking you when you accepted the return without hesitation is a bit over the top on his part. If you do reach out and he doesn't respond then I would agree, not a person worth dealing with at all down the road.

Or making the seal so loose that the actual inner slab is loose...I have gotten some perfect ones though, not loose no newton ring but it looks like it’s a crap shoot.

Yea, I think so too. There's always two sides of a story, but this one is exactly how I explained it. I left nothing out and was as kind and receptive and considerate as possible (always am).
My extremist guess is he saw it as I purposely sent him something severely damaged and I knew it and did it anyway. That's all I can think of.

Oh I am not saying you didn't tell an accurate tale, I am suggesting you may want to reach out and explain the whole newton rings/oil slicks case issue with him as he probably isn't aware that the issue is wide spread and on CGC's shoulders, not something you purposely did. He probably will end up thanking you for educating him on the issue so he knows for future reference. Or he may not bother to respond, and if so he isn't deserving of your business or anyone's for that matter.

That's weird. Only 12 were listed on Sunday the 26th. Usually Sunday is the prime day for starting/ending an auction on eBay. Maybe people are waiting for Tuesday, to do a 5-day auction?

Or maybe it's topped out already?

Next Sunday is the Superbowl. Ending a listing then wouldn't be something I'd do.

For anyone that was interested the 9.8 signed newsstand Spawn 1, from previous posts, ended at $614.00.

@drchaos that’s why I always call and have them held at a location. Cause they either come at 8 in the morning or at 6 at night. Two very inconvenient times.

I've stopped using FedEx. Their local office is terrible. And UPS lets you sign for a package online, so that they drop it off if you aren't home.

I don’t have a local office lol. I have to have mine held at the walgreens in town haha. But that is very nice to know that UPS lets you do that. I will definitely keep that in mind.

UPS has a service whereas you can see the delivery truck on a map on the website or app in real-time so it gives you an idea how close (or far) they are from your house or work. I have used it several times when I need to run to the post office yet don't want to risk missing a shipment so checking the map and seeing where the truck is is helpful. Perhaps FedEx will eventually offer a service like that.

Just got an email saying my books from the signing are shipping. I had them pressed by CGC's in house service. Only received grader's notes on one. Not going to complain about the grades, the two slabs I had cracked went up in grade.

Just waiting on 3 other books a facilitator still had in their possession.

329 "Todd McFarlane signed CGC" books on eBay. If one looks it up a bit differently by typing in "Todd McFarlane SS" and does a search then there are 344 books on eBay.

I think I still have 6 or 7 more books that I have not received yet but here is what came back so far:

The second picture is basically a close up of the same books in the first picture which had a glare on the top row.

I don't have a pic yet, but just heard about my one submission ... it is coming back a 9.4. Amazing Spider-Man 301. Not bad, but I was hoping it would grade higher.

So, my second miss in my quest for a 9.8 of this issue. For those who didn't see my original post about this comic, the difference in price between a 9.6 and a 9.8 of #301 is HUGE. So, I'll keep trying. Sending another candidate off today!

Prices on eBay for this issue (SS McFarlane) are all over the place.
9.6 auction, current bid is $132.50
9.2 fixed price for $699.99
#301 (9.4) and #302 (9.2) together: $1095.00
9.6 fixed price for $749.99
9.4 auction start at $399.99
9.2 fixed price at $359.99

And there may be others if I play around with search terms.

I don't think this will go for what some are asking. I think I'll price mine for a quick sale starting at $399, though I would take ~$300 pretty easily. I don't think I'd have to drop it below that, but we'll see!

@Tedsaid Did you have your books pressed before submitting or was that an option for the CGC McFarlane signing? I am waiting to send mine in until the new cases from CBCS debut in March, but more than likely it will be Summer or Fall when I get around to it since I am planning on selling my house and buying a different one. I want to send in my entire run of #298-328 to be pressed, as Todd signed the entire run on the inside front page back in the early 90's but had him sign #300 again on the cover a few years ago so mine will all need to go through the authentication process and will have red labels but that does not really bother me. Hoping I can get some high grades too!
