Digging around my mess of a comic room and found this Sotheby's Comic Auction Catalog from December 1991. I figured it would be fun to scan some pages and post them for others enjoyment. This was one hell of a auction as well...just some incredible books and art and everything in between.

Beware - the prices may make you lose your lunch.

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
I was away at college learning how to calculate the massive return on investment that the winning bidders got on these awesome books.

I’m not sure they know they’re taking one for the team. Drogio private msg quote post Address this user

I’m guessing lots 143 and 308 are Action Comics #1...

The estimate that “less than 100 copies” of Marvel Comics #1 exist seems to still be accurate as of today...62 copies in the cgc census...33 of which are restored...and some of those likely were resubmitted at some point...doubt there are 40 raw copies or copies graded by another company still floating around out there...

@Drogio
Lot #143 was DETECTIVE COMICS #27
and
Lot #308 A Frazetta oil painting of Vampirella.

ACTION #1 was Lot 60.
