Meh. I’ll wait for digital release. I’ve learned my lessons with the Disney butchers.

They're still making Star Wars movies? The last time I saw one in a theater it was 1983.

The sad thing is that with CGI being what it is Star Wars no longer has the "amazement" factor that it once did.

I'm glad a new generation is loving it, but my motivation to see any of the new films died with The Phantom Menace.

@Paint_Monk I hear ya. I'm not even sure of the plot anymore. I'm one of those kids that stood in line for a couple of blocks to see the OG one.

I think it looks decent enough, but I also feel it looks like they are over correcting to appease the part of the fan base that was triggered by The Last Jedi. They seem to be leaning in heavy on nostalgia again.

I have generally liked the new star wars films. I thought Rogue One was better then any prequel and even could replace return of the jedi(which I have never loved...it was always 3rd) solo was fun, the force awakens was a good restart and the last jedi was good..if not great... and doesn't deserve the hate it has received.

As for plot....I'm wondering if they are using elements of dark empire in bringing the emperor back and also the whole "lost fleet" from the novels and comics.

I'll wait for video.

The new films have been very hit or miss to me. I thought Rogue One was exceptional. Force Awakens seemed promising, but like so many things Abrams does (Alias, Lost), it set up all sorts of interesting questions it turned out he didn't have any answers for. Last Jedi was ghastly. I fell asleep in Solo.

It's unfortunate the actors had all aged out of it - otherwise they would have been far wiser to simply trash all their ideas for the new trilogy and film Timothy Zahn's Dark Force Rising trilogy.

Rogue one was best recent film by far, right up there with the original trilogy.. the final Darth Vader scene made me feel like an excited little boy again. . the rest ofv the recent films have been boring and / or nonsensical .. imo

I'll go buy it later at a used DVD movie shop for $5 and watch it, then sell it back to them for $1. $4 is better than spending $35 brand new. Anyway, that's what I did with the least 6 episodes they released... didn't regret it. LOL

I'll go see it if I'm told the following happens -

Rey fights Kylo Ren. Kylo Ren turns Rey. Together they are called by and go to the reincarnated Emperor. Since there can only be 2 Siths at anytime the reincarnated Emperor has them fight when they arrive. During the fight Kylo Ren has a vision and is turned to the light side of the force by Luke and Vader/Anakin. He then kills both the reincarnated Emperor and Rey. He then jumps into his ship and escapes to lead the resistance against the new death star/death planet/death whatever that is going to kill everyone on the side of good.

At the end of the movie after the death star/death planet/death whatever is defeated, Kylo Ren and all the people riding the horses (in the trailer) have a big party and he looks over to see Anakin, Luke, Yoda, Rey, Leia, Han, and Obi-Wan all smiling at him while watching over him. Luke says that Kylo Ren has brought balance to the force and that the Sith are forever banished/destroyed. Kylo Ren then fires up his light saber and cuts his own head off. As he falls to the ground his spirit joins the other members of the Skywalker family and they rise into the heavens together as we fade to black screen and the credits.

Agreed. I'm hooked. That's not say I have not been disappointed in the newest ones, but they are trying.

I'm hoping the next trilogy explores Luke's lesser known brother Murray Skywalker and his struggles as a force sensitive accountant.

That seems to be a good description of someone that was incorrect while attempting to paint another poster as something they aren’t due to the baggage they bring to the table.

I wasn't meaning to insult, @Towmater . You don't have to go far on the internet, not even beyond this thread, to find lots of Star Wars fans who apparently aren't fans of Star Wars because they don't like where the stories have gone. They are exceptionally proud to say that they aren't going to watch any more until it fits Book X or their mental screenplay. It gets a little old, is all.

@xkonk I think you're giving a very generalized and blanket synopsis of the complaints people have with the current movies. I think you're hearing what you want to hear, without actually listening.

If you like everything about them, yay. I'm glad you're easy to please. But don't paint the people who are disappointed with a broad brush. The complaints are valid, but keep in mind that not everyone has the ability and/or eloquence to explain what they don't like about them. Add to that the fact that with social media, you see a barrage of hate, much of it lacking a good foundation of communication skills.

I stopped caring after the Last Jedi. That movie gave me nothing to look forward to. I still can't get over the fact that they brought back the 3 main cast members and they never had one scene together.
