Joye Hummel information sought10257

I have a problem with fattening women up. Bronte private msg quote post Address this user
@Darkseid_of_town

I would say, give it time. The person you are dealing with is of age. As you mentioned, she may have just not checked her email or it went into spam folder.

As for the value of the books being sent to her. Personally, I would not be concerned if they dropped 9 points. If I had a book signed by her, the value would be the historical reference and not the grade of the book. (Money is not everything)

However, if it makes you feel better, she donated a lot of her memorabilia to a museum. That would suggest she knows that things have value and may treat your books with care.

Like the other people that have commented, I sincerely hope this works out.

The two original Hummel books I have are both in the 3.5/4.5 spectrum. She could write her name on the cover in yellow sharpie and I doubt it would move the grade an inch....that isn't really the concern nor how she would handle them.
I worry more for loss in transit or an accident...even a low grade wonder woman issue below #30 is between 2-4 hundred each. If she agrees to sign I am likely to gamble and send one of them as well as some form of reprint for another.
This also has to happen in a way where once she opens the box, she can write her name, place it back in the packing , seal the box , affix the new label, use the possibly pre paid label or buy one using funds provided, hand it to the counter help at the post office and be done.it might even work to provide stamps, in enough measure to cover the package. The more simple and easy it is the more likely results.

and just when hope wavers....I have this today....

Dear Michael.
I am writing this for my wife, Joye Kelly. Notice that her name is NOT Joyce.
She is thrilled that you took the time to write to her via Amy. Joye would be happy to sign your documents. Any charities you favor would be nice, but not necessary on her behalf.

Her mailing address is:

"Omitted obviously out of respect for privacy "
Thank you again for your interest. Stay well and God Bless.

"He signed his name as well but also being careful and trying to respect I omitted that."

I am going to gamble with the wonder woman 16, a reprint annual and a Dc Archives edition book. That will be three items, and I might print and send an image of her from one of the articles posted. I would imagine 4 things might be enough without being rude. I also balance that with the idea this is likely a one time, never again aligning of the stars, given her age and so forth.

Thank you for noting my participation. However, because of your introducing her significance to the forum, this was a mystery worth the effort...

Of course if you ever sell the books, I want first dibs... LOL

Yes wise idea sportshot, this has to come off without a hitch and be as simple as possible at least for her part of it.

I was just reviewing options what to ask signed and came across Dc archives Wonder woman hardcover #7

Its a 49 dollar book, but the contents are highly channeled towards my goals here.
It reprints "Volume 7 - 1st printing. Collects Sensation Comics (1942-1952) #50-57 and Wonder Woman (1942-1986 1st Series DC) #16-18. Written by William Moulton Marston. Art and cover by Harry G. Peter. Stories from 1946 pit WONDER WOMAN against Dr. Psycho, King Pluto and German spy Paula von Gunther! Hardcover, 224 pages, full color. Cover price $59.99. "

Wonder woman 16,17 and 18 were all written by Joye, and as a bonus she also wrote Sensation comics 52 53 54 55 57

It would be quite unique and superb as a collectible if I could get her to sign her name at the headpage of each one she wrote!

also heavily considering this 2002 facsimile reprint edition ….WRITTEN BY WILLIAM MOULTON MARSTON AND ROBERT KANIGHER; ART BY H.G. PETER, ROSS ANDRU, AND MIKE ESPOSITO; COVER BY PETER In stores December 18. Rescued from the vault of lost annuals, this 80-page one-shot collects four of the Amazon Princess's classic adventures! First up is a tale that is considered one of her best Golden Age escapades: "Villainy Incorporated," reprinting WONDER WOMAN (first series) #28. Also included are "Eagle of Space" from issue #105, "Wanted: Wonder Woman" from issue #108 and "Revolt of Wonder Woman!" from issue #144! For more information, see the feature article. FC, 80 PG.$4.95 Cover price $4.95.

Joye Hummel wrote the Villiany Incorporated story, in place of Marston so this would be something she did, its inexpensive and would look nice with her name across it

Funny. I was going to say to @Darkseid_of_town. I served my purpose for existence for the day, but felt it was a bit morbid in such a joyous thread... LOL

yes, it looks like its going to happen for sure. I have been sitting here picking things to have signed...I am pretty much locked on sending wonder woman 16, a Dc Archives edition, the facsimile reprint and something else if I can just find what that is!

today I brought the wonder woman 16 home, for the project. It is a 3.0 according to MCS and even cleaned , and pressed I doubt it would make it past 4.0 despite being undergraded.

I am considering asking her to sign her name to the cover, in the small cloud below the horse....it looks like a perfect spot for her name.

I checked on the DC archives book at MCS ...a new copy is 49.95...glanced over at ebay and found a sealed copy opeing bid 19.95, no bids, four dollars shipping , ends in nine hours. I pounced....
Now to order the 2002 facsimile reprint annual , I think since I am getting a pretty good price on the book, I will get two of the facsimile books to send.

One day this whole quest will be memorialized by a documentary on Netflix. Better put a running GoPro in the box when you ship the comics.

This is why I was pouring through my signed cards...I knew I had gone to the effort to get these done. I am debating which are the best ones to send along to ask Joye to sign....yes, the signatures on the cards are all the Original Wonder woman we all loved, Lynda Carter.

I am partial to the hologram and the one top row far right, as neither are personalized to me.....

ps..I do think I remember a wonder woman show before this one, that had Kathy Lee? as wonder woman...but it wasn't that epic.
I loved Lynda Carter as wonder woman, part of my fascination with the character today still.

A one shot pilot, it never gained traction although she claimed later that she was in fact offered the role that was later given to Lynda Carter....I think the history of the series would have been quite different in that case

If you are asking me. I would say top row middle card. If she signed opposite corner it would balance. The art is also very striking. It would stand out.

I like 2nd row middle card too, but the card is so dark it wouldn't showcase signature well.

So doing a checklist what is being sent, I am still awaiting my hardback archives book, with possible Saturday delivery and my Dc card set, that I will gut for cards to send along as page markers within said book, arriving apparently Monday.

Already in place:
Signed wonder woman cards
Two golden age books being sent
Two facsimile annuals

Tomorrow I will begin working on the box within a box method of sending things as suggested by sportshot. I am of a mind I may get by with using a medium flat rate inserted inside a larger flat rate to send this...either that or a larger outer box, with a medium flat rate inside it. I need to see how heavy it all is, once boxed, but almost sure the weight will be enough to suggest flat rate moving both out and back. The main weight is caused by the Dc archives book but with some 7 of the stories inside done by Joye, its the central piece in my plan
