On Site Grading???10153

I have a few questions for the group on site grading. What exactly is the on site grading at a con? Is it still encapsulated, or do they just put a sticker on the bag? Do they do signature witnessing this way as well? For anyone that has done it before what are your experience’s? I would love to see some books that have been done.

On-Site grading is the same service as regular grading, so they are slabbed and you can do witnessed signatures. You would not be able to tell the difference between a book that’s been graded on-site and one that went through regular grading.

You submit them at the convention and get them back at the end of the show. Pricing is higher for the service and you can’t do verified signatures (red labels), or slab-only submissions.

@dielinfinite That is kind of what I figured it was, but I thank you for clarifying it for me. I have seen a few books in the past that were not slabbed, and wanted to make sure this was not the case for these.
Thanks,

And only CGC has offered on-site, that i know of. CBCS did something close at a Texas con, but they just drove them over to their building and had them back by Con’s end.

@cyrano0521 I mean, there is little practical difference save that CBCS doesn’t offer the service too far from their office.

The next on-site grading event is Dallas Fan Days in October

I stand corrected and quite amazed, especially at the distant from home cons.
