Rumor: Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ will be based on ‘Long Halloween’10066

I heard this on one of Kevin Smith’s more recent podcasts, and when his co-host Marc Bernardin brought it up, he said he’d heard this as well.

I’d be skeptical this could be adapted into a movie in a satisfying way if it weren’t for Matt Reeves’ involvement. The guy did an amazing job with the recent ‘Planet of the Apes’ prequel trilogy.

Agree completely! I'm also skeptical of the Pattison casting but again in the hands of Matt Reeves I'm put at ease.

Side note: When Ben Affleck was still attached to write & Direct, his script was based on ‘Arkham Asylum’.

Man, with him Directing, that could have been a hell of a movie.

Yeah, we could have gotten a Batman movie on the same level as Live By Night.

Or, ‘Argo’, which was great.

I haven’t seen ‘The Town’ or ‘Gone Baby Gone’, but I’ve heard good things about those.

He’s a much better Director than he is an actor.

Sure he has the ability to direct. However, he wrote, acted, and directed the film I referenced. Also, it was his most current offering in which he did all three. It was a stinker.

Point taken. I was just saying there was potential there.
