Comics Golden AgeGrading Help NeededQuestions

What kind of hit on grade would this be5900

Assume the book is a 6.0 otherwise (just work with me here).

Is it a 5.0? 4.0? .5?

If you know from experience or can quote chapter and verse why you say what you say it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

As lot of judgement but I would say you would probable get 1-1.5 deduction in this grade range so 4.5-5.
If you want more info just google popped staple grading

Not sure with CBCS but with the other guys you could still pull a 6.0 but qualified "cover detached at top staple".

I have an Aquaman #4 in 9.0 but bottom staple graded as such from CGC.

Somewhat common on some older books due to thin paper stock on the cover

Might seem unfair, but my experience with both companies is that golden age books take less of a hit on this than silver and newer. Less of a hit on pretty much everything, so maybe 1 grade.
