Just wondering if it is worth getting pressed and graded

Nope. Off Centered cover kills it for me.

@Khumbu It is a key book but all depends whether the dirt on the back can be removed. Personally - yes I would do it

I would put it in the 5.0 to 6.0 range. It would definitely look a lot better with a press and clean. Like @poka said, it’s a key book, so do it.

I would pass. The cost of a press and grade may not elevate the book enough to justify it.

5.0-6.0. Staining/rub on back, crease line on back, rounded corners, cover curling over book corners, 12 spine ticks. This book would greatly benefit from cleaning. The crease line on back cover might be a problem tho

I'd clean, press, and slab it if I planned to sell it. Otherwise no.

Edit: Oh, and 5.0/5.5 as is

That crease line on the back worried me. Would pressing be able to get that out or would it make it even worse?

Can't talk about technique or method, but some books it works out and some not so much. Depends on deepness of crease, and most importantly: was it in production from the printer press that way and if so when flattened out will there be missing ink underneath the crease line?

Some of it is staining but most of it is dirt which can be removed. Staining isn't going anywhere.

Looks 5.5-ish as is. 6.5-ish with a press.

With the Phoenix being a hot story right now, it will bring a nice price on eBay in raw.

It won't be selling as well as it has been lately in 2-3 months after the book is pressed and slabbed.

With fast tracked fees on both services accounted for, the difference in selling it raw now as opposed to pressed/slabbed in 2 1/2 months may not be that much.

I'd have to look at the book on my desktop and check GPA but yeah, it is certainly worth having pressed & graded.

Nah, that is a production crease on the BC.

It'll have a negligible impact on the grade, if any at all.

There is also a smaller production crease on the FC, right under Cyclop's eye.But that also won't effect the grade.
