Seriously though, this thread makes me want to go to SDCC next year.

Those books, those glorious books.

With enough coin, I could get every book on my wish list. 😇

Thinking the same thing, but I wonder how inflated the prices are at a con. The floor space there is expensive so I assume sellers make it up somewhere.

They definitely are inflated. You have to bundle and bargain.

I thought everyone was saying SDCC was all pop culture and no comics anymore? I would be so happy walking around that room. Good lord, so many comics I want...wish they had online stores

Some do:

http://www.superworldcomics.com/

A-1 Comics keeps a huge chunk of their inventory on an eBay store too.

They do like 30-50% off wall book sales a lot. Not a bad place at all.

lol and there are a bunch of places I didn't take pictures of today because my phone was dying.

I think if you were to divide SDCC up by interest, Comics (and Comic Art) would definitely make up a minority of the percentage, but as a show, it's so big that even that small percentage is quite impressive.

lol I didn't really come prepared with any sort of business plan. I usually just show up and leave poor lol

Maybe I'll plan on something next year. For now, if there's something you see or something you're looking for, let me know and I'll see if I can find it.

SDCC is funny like that... You think that it's all pop culture, but there are still a LOT of comics there. I've been going for years (not as many as some) and have watched it go from where you could walk up on a random day and buy a ticket to being impossible to get tickets. Luckily, I get pro badges, so it's not an issue. On the comic side of things, I'm there for those. Last week, I walked around and saw a LOT of good books! The pricing is all over the board, though. It was downright comical! Go through one bin (non-CGC/CBCS) and find a book for $9 at one booth... Same condition, a couple of booths down, another guy is selling the same for $90. Makes little sense aside from the "Overstreet" mentality. I know some will still go and buy books from those folks AND I know there's overhead to consider, but it's a tough pill to swallow in this day and age. Amazing to see all of the books at the show, though. I was pleased to see a nice spectrum of books places like Torpedo, though. All ranges of conditions and fair pricing, kind of a mid-ground. Where I ended up spending my money, I was prepared to pay what was on the books and people tallied the books up and said, "here's your total," knocking off some $$$, which was nice... Next year, I'm looking forward to doing the same.

Sorry for the rant! :P
