Sketch Covers... Sketch Covers Everywhere24

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
Went to the Zapp! sketch party today.

I am waiting on two commissions I dropped off but I watched Nick Justus draw this Dark Phoenix sketch I am giving my brother for his birthday.

Not exactly a sketch cover but I didn't want to start a whole new thread.

Alex Ross just put this up on his Facebook feed. I just wanted to share his awesome art of a long overdue match-up with you:

I will be picking up two more commissions from my LCS this week so I will be putting them up soon.

I've posted this one before but here it is again +2 more signatures.

Unfortunately, the label from CBCS is erroneous (John Romita Jr did not color the back) so it's likely going back to CBCS for a new label

Rick Burchett let me know that the cover he has been working on for me is finished. I'll be getting this in about 2 weeks.

Just a great cover! I think he did an incredible job on it.

Does this count? Got this Holy Grail item in last week but I was too sick to open and check it out yet:

1988 Original OFFICIAL TMNT
TURTLE FORCE FAN CLUB KIT #2562
Complete, Open
SIGNED and SKETCHED BY:
Ninja Turtles Co-Creators Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman
Ninja Turtles Illustrator and Mirage Studios Artist Steve Lavigne
Directly from Dee and Steve Lavigne with provenance.

This Fan Club Kit came directly from Steve Lavigne's personal ebay account. He runs Shellback Artworks of which recently closed their physical shop down in October of 2016 but remain a strong presence on Facebook. They will have a website for commissions and online shopping in the future. I recently spotted this on eBay and messaged them asking for verification. His wife, Dee replied back and said this was from Mr Lavigne, and Steve "would be happy to add a signature and sketch" on the item.

You might wonder and ask KaptainMyke, "But why, KaptainMyke, just why did you get Steve to sign an original Turtle Force Fan Club Kit signed by the co-creators Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman?!" My answer is a simple one: "Kevin Eastman has publicly stated that Steve Lavigne is the basis for the character of Michaelangelo". Steve Lavigne along with Ryan Brown illustrated the majority of officially licensed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Merchandise. I also do not own any sketches or autographs from Steve Lavigne so this was my shot at one if there ever was a chance.

A little bit of history on the Fan Club Kit:

This was the original fan club you would receive if mailed in the fan club form only offered in the original 1988 release rubber soft head Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from either Donatello, Michaelangelo, Raphael, or Leonardo.

This is a complete yet opened fan club kit, serial number #2562. The envelope is in excellent condition, with only 1 small tear at the top flap crease.

Includes the following in the Fan Club:

Welcome Letter
Limited Edition mini TMNT comic book (Street Collector’s Edition #1 – raw ungraded)
4″ yellow "Mutant Power" color TMNT sticker
Official Turtle Force Wall Certificate and Membership card #2562
Royal Blue "Heroes in a half shell" Eastman and Laird art 22″ x 22″ TMNT bandanna
original packet mailing envelope

These rarely surface for sale ever, and when they do they are expensive...

Reminds me of the art style of Image Comics' "Butcher Baker, the Righteous Maker". Interesting mini series, btw only 7 issues before getting cancelled.

I got these from Jim Zub @ Toronto ComiCon over the weekend, Aku from Samurai Jack!

Not a cover, but this is one of my favourite pieces from my TDKR collection.
