These threads encourage amateurs to try pressing thinking there is nothing to it, when the reality is that paper conservation is quite an art. It takes study, talent, practice, and research. We get books in every day that were pressed by people who are permanently damaging books. The people at CBCS, if nothing else, love comics, and we don't want people destroying them thinking they are making their books look pretty. Believe me, people need to be sending books to be pressed by people who know what they're doing. The topic is closed. Please don't start any future threads discussing it. Thanks! |
