SPAWN #1 Black Ink Error1599

Collector NormdaMarine private msg quote post Address this user
ALright y'all I found this book today for $25's. It appears to be signed and enscribed Al Simmons Aka Spawn 94. It is the Rare colorless black ink error and on its way to be graded. I can't find any information on a sold book because of the rarity... Any thoughts on this book?

Call me old skool but a book means more to me if I find it the way I did. Sure you can go wait in a line, pay $100's and have them sign it but to find an ultra rare error print in the wild for $25's! Now that is a pretty cool story!

I went to a local Comic Book and Toy sale and found it thumbing through some long boxes.

Sales of this book are recorded as "manufacturing error" and sell for a lot.
If you picked that up for $25, you'll be pleased with it.

This is a sale for a weak black book. clickable text They are rare and I'm sure that was a staple in someone's Spawn collection. If it was 25 bucks then yes you did very well for yourself. The Al Simmons part is not an inscription it's another signature from this person. clickable text Congratulations on a super find.

I had a copy of Spawn #1 with Al Simmons written on it. Always wondered where it came from.

I met Al at a show back in 1994. He signed this card for me.

No send it to CBCS let them verify the signatures give the book the thumbs up and the money made by taking the time will pay off. But either way your going to get a sweet return.

That is such a sweet book. Get it red labeled and list it on ebay for 99 cents. Let the bids fly imo

Confusing. Even though Todd swears up and down that guy was not Spawn or the inspiration of Spawn. Why would he tour with him? I know he was an employee but that's just too odd.

He wrote a book called "The Art of being Spawn" and Todd decided he was no longer Spawn.

They were close friends back in the day. They played baseball (minor league?) together.

Todd is known for using real people's names for his characters. Spawn's daughter Cyan is named after Todd's real life daughter. Terry Fitzgerald is also named after one of his friends. Also Todd was sued by NHL hockey played Tony Twist because Todd used his name for one of his characters without Twist's consent. I'm pretty sure Todd lost that law suit.

Man after reading and digging this book just got a lot more interesting! I am a HUGE Spawn fan and this book is a holy grail of collectors of this unique market, I am however not one of them. I would rather sell it and buy other books lol... Going to get it red labeled!

All this reminds me of Rob Liefeld. Avengelyne was created by Rob LIefeld and Cathy Christian. Avengelyne likeness is based on Christian plus was the first offical Vampirella model to appear at conventions in 1990's. Only cover as Vengeance of Vampirella #6.
