Do you guys know of Doug Sulipa???9952

Just wondering how many others know of Doug Sulipa??

Pretty sure I was at his warehouse as a kid? maybe not - I do remember being in some massive comic store in Winnipeg when I was 10-12, like Raiders of the Lost Ark just rack upon rack upon rack

Anyway this guys online store is like something out of the 80's, the interface is even worse than Milehigh but Doug has tons and tons of books!!

For me anyway he has had lots of harder to find mid 80's books I've been looking for and at reasonable prices, just sometimes a chore to track down the book(s) I'm looking for .

Just can't say enough

Yes! I gave up on his site at one point, but the few things I could find were excellent prices. I bought something from him off...ebay...maybe at a show? Regardless I ended up with a little card directing me to his site.

Great guy and has supported our hobby for many years. His Overstreet reports are massive and full of cool data.

I've bought from him before... just recently, in fact. I was happy with the purchase. I do agree that his website could use a massive overhaul.

I'm trying to navigate his site again so I don't have to work while at work. I might just go back to work. This is a process.

Doug is an awesome guy and in my opinion, he is within the top 1 percent of most knowledgeable individuals when it comes to comic books. He’s also very humble and gives great prices.

Use to go to his store in the 80’s and 90’s. He had the store on portage avenue in and old church or something similar it had a high ceiling and rows of bins with comics and records. With the counter and display cabinets at the front filled with old comics and pop memorabilia. The second store I remember was on princess it was in the basement with a low ceiling. Counter and display case at the front bind in the back. He was great to deal with always got decent deals buying or trading stuff in. Got my secret wars and alpha flight comics when they were coming out from the portage store.
It was always my first stop anytime we went to downtown Winnipeg.
But yes that website is a mess.

@poisonelf1 I think it was the basement store that I remember. My Baba (Grandmother)was in a Ukrainian Mandolin Orchestra (she also played Bandura) and they would make trips to Winnipeg and Manitoba and Northern Ontario (we are in Southern Ontario) - they even played Expo 86 in Vancouver and as a young kid in the summer my parents would throw me on the bus with the orchestra and I would get to go to these places too!! Was great fun, wasn't only my Grandmum either, 2 of her brothers (and sometimes a 3rd one) and their wives were all part of the orchestra and often we had additional family where we were going.

He is awesome to deal with. Great source of knowledge and comics. He's probably using Microsoft Word to make his web pages. That'a a good thing if you are patient and use CTRL-F to search what you are looking for. Many people give up before they find the good stuff to buy.

I'm going to send Doug an email later. He has some pence and Canadian price variants listed that I might be able to get. I just need to check against my list. You guys convinced me.

Can I get a link to this torturous site? My curiosity as a web developer has been peaked, plus I can always use more books.

Thanks.

Can you really call that a web site? It looks more like an old BBS site that got moved over to the world wide web.
