No, no, no, i would never want to see one of my comics in Steve Borock’s “Cool books” thread.

And, pleeeaase don’t throw me in the briar patch.

Those who don’t get that reference are very likely not age enhanced. 😉

WOW! How tough it was to sell those early comics - "Free Movies (NetFlix?) Cash Prizes" - to get the kid to part with that one thin dime from his allowance, lawn mowing, paper route. The hook? "See Inside" and the newsstand or drug store guy probably yelling to buy it or put it back. If only they knew then what they would become....20/20 hindsight

Steve, you're gonna need a new grading desk from the weight of big league books hitting it!

I disagree with Brer ebayseller.

My desire to have him spotlight one of my books isn’t secret at all!

But, seriously, I think we need shirts that say “Steve showed my book and all I got was this shirt, and an encapsulated comic.”

I don't think I've ever seen a modern book in this thread, so sadly, my books are out of the running.

to be fair most moderns just aren't that "cool". Almost everyone has them or they are easy to obtain...these oldies though beat them hands down... the composition is great, subject matter is out of this world and just the plain artistry..ah hem...they all have feet and no pouches... cough, cough!!

Thanks, Steve. I was just noting that most really neat books were Copper Age or earlier. A lot of the newer stuff just isn't that rare.

I figure as the boss man the only things that cross your desk are the really rare books that someone "higher up" in the company should be handling anyway.

In steve's defense and if I can remember correctly, some months back he did post a modern Spiderman book apparently signed by former president Obama

That’s right! He did!

I always thought Steve handled the older books. Being the boss has its privileges.

I just love seeing high grade bronze and silver age comics. I'm always amazed when a ~50 year old comic gets a 9.6 or a 9.8, no matter what it is.
