True first appearance of Deacon Frost9636

I know it, you know it, we all know it! Deacon Frost is going to be the anticipated villain in the upcoming Blade movie/series! Of course, Disney always has a way of changing up the original script. But its safe to say we will be seeing him within Marvels Phase 4.

My question is: Which comic is his true first appearance? Tomb of Dracula #13 or Tomb of Dracula #45?

Tomb of Dracula #13: Frost isn't formally introduced here. He just appears as "the doctor" on no more than 7 panels with no dialogue, in backstory narrated by Blade. Frost is brought in to assist Blades mother with the childbirth and essentially "dines and dashes" when hes caught by the mothers friends.

Tomb of Dracula #45: Here we get our first reveal of Deacon Frost in a side characters backstory. The difference here is that Frost is actually introduced by name and his dastardly deeds affect the ongoing story.

Both CBCS & CGC mentions ToD #45 as "First appearance of Deacon Frost", while on ToD #13 there is no notation of Frost anywhere on the label.

So which one is it? Thanks for the input everyone!

my guess would be to treat the first appearance like how we treat Wolverine's 1st appearance?

I definitely see Frost coming to the screen, he's integral to Blades story. I mean, his mom gets bitten by him which then makes her fetus infected. I would bet #45 is going to be the 1st and more sought after book.

It could end up like John Constantine in Swamp Thing (second series). His cameo is in #25, and first appearance is #37. The latter is the one you want, but #25 has increased in value as well.

It might also take CGC and/or CBCS to note his presence in TOD #13 to help boost the value.

Both CBCS and CGC show that Tomb of Dracula #45 is the first appearance on their labels.
