If you have not had a chance to meet her I highly recommend the experience, she was incredible.

On a side note, does CBCS have any guerrilla plans for NYCC this year? I have a headshot signed from her but I need a Trek comic signed by her too and I dont know if Im going to have the funds/books needed to be able to apply to self-witness.

I never met her, but in the 60's it was Nichelle Nichols and Diahann Carroll who were the few black actors on television that I fondly remember. I grew up in an area where there were no blacks, so I was isolated as a child. I remember being in a store as a very young child with my mother and another female shopper walked by us who was black and I said very loudly to my mother "look, it's JULIA!"

I always admired Nichelle Nichols, only black woman on television with respect and power at the time. Although, sadly, her depiction often reflected the times.
