With AT&T and the Warner Media merger being upheld at the Court of Appeals, AT&T and Time Warner announced a "Streamlining of Operations" (e.g: layoffs) [https://www.cnbc.com/2019/03/04/warnermedia-reorganizes-its-leadership-team-after-att-acquisition.html]clickable text[/url].

"Layoffs expected as WarnerMedia reorganizes its leadership team after AT&T acquisition"

Let's see how this announcement affects DC Comics. I suspect Dan DiDio knew this was coming, so DC cut their comics output in response.

Here is the variant cover...

Oh for f*cks sake...these variants just prove EVERYTHING we've been saying in this thread. They're trying to get sales for an anniversary book with classic characters that 85% of the current comic buying public haven't heard of...so what do they do, without a hint of irony or self awareness they serve up another "shitty" variant...

That Ziggy secret variant DEFINITELY has long term value. Definitely. In 5 years it should without a doubt be at ........... drum roll ...... $5.

So like, I don’t mind Variants, they are fun. But every year when the issue number resets to one on any title (especially marvel), we get bombarded with variations of cover art that no one wants, and ends up in a dollar bin.

The two instances that I liked, were HipHop covers, and the Manga Covers. I especially loved the Manga covers, in fact, I picked up one of them, and currently waiting to get it graded, is the Yasuhiro Nightow Guardians of Knowhere Manga Variant.

To be able to combine the two cultures for an epic collab like that, it absolutely tickles my soul. Anything beyond collabs, and real world events, I feel that Variants are greedy cash grabs that oversaturate the comics market.

The biggies might fail, but make mine Alterna comics. Inexpensive cover price because newsprint, no variants, and customers aren't taken for granted [or called nazis]. All ages covered, from the Chair to Cyko KO.
