nothing begins here without grimlock getting involved so with that out of the way....here is a run of comics I recently bought. they all appear to be higher grade clean near mint or close condition. I seldom buy new books and am just unsure what I am dealing with here and perhaps a guess given its a modern what it might bring if graded. the rippling you see is what I am pondering....it doesn't present itself like water damage does in older books I am used to dealing with. would a press and clean do the trick and pull this one into 9.0 territory...any thoughts or input appreciated up front...mostly work with silver and golden age and this seems different ...perhaps some thoughts here mr rickets....salvageable?

That Edge of the Spiderverse #2 is money. Looks pretty clean. I'd go with a press and grade on it. Are the others variants? I'm admittedly not too familiar with the series itself.

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user

The two is a first print for sure.

Need to see the bottom edge of the other books to determine the printing.

@Darkseid_of_town Cute cat. Nice book too. Looks like a press will smooth out that waveyness.

I would get the cat pressed and cleaned. I think you definitely have a 9.0 cat as it sits. With a press and clean we're talking a possible 9.4 to 9.6 kitty, throw in a little meow and you might have a puuuuurfect 10.
The comics I have no clue.

It was a one trick pony show but always hilarious. GAC private msg quote post Address this user

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
They all look like first prints to me. They change the color for the top/bottom strip on 2nd printings, and you can see in the first (non-Grimlock) picture that they're the right color.

Judging from gocollect and mycomicshop #2 is the only really big money issue. #5 is the first Peni Parker so a 9.8 might go for $100 now; 1, 3, and 4 are less.

Get the #2 graded. Probably a press on it. Depending on what you paid the rest may not be worth it. If you're just planning on turning them all around and reselling you may or may not actually increase the profit by grading the rest of them.

I bought a meat grinder on amazon for $60 and it's changed my life. kaptainmyke private msg quote post Address this user
Those "ripples" are printer roller bumps on most thin marvel moderns. That book should be cleaned a bit and press out nicely to get at least a 9.6. I've now pressed 2 of those personally up to a 9.8.

Are you sending in other books, or just the one? If you think 5 has a shot at 9.6 or higher might want to throw it in with it...only $30 or so more and I’ll net you some additional profit if you’re looking to sell.

The other thought is have them pressed but sent back to you...decide after you see how they come out.

Jealous, your SV2 looks to be a better clean & pressing candidate than mine.

Grimlock appreciates all the kind words. He is a great partner and seem to understand what a camera is for.
As for the books I had bought a slabbed signed stan Lee book a month before he passed...spider Gwen 1. Hence.my interest in this run and a more modern book than I normally collect. Honestly if you are used to building silver age runs in grade a modern title or character should be fairly easy.Scored this set of books for about 125 with intentions of keeping-given the imput and help here I am likely to get the 2 and 5 pressed and slabbed. I truly Appreciate all the help and insight. Admittedly lost on modern stuff mostly
