| I suspect the "Exceptional White" idea will be an epic fail. There are several good reasons why it isn't a positive move, including the most obvious (an unintended secondary subtext that comes uncomfortably close to a tiki torch carrier slogan). Note: That's because the word "exceptional" has been co-opted into an -ism that has a political context. Better a hyphenated word like "super-White" or "bone-White" be used. However, the most relevent argument against any change in current designation is that the word "White" has stood the test of time for freshest page quality and changing that would be unfair to all owners of books graded prior to it's implementation. To CBCS management: that's food for thought, guys.   |
