@martymann Love those sci-fi covers! Why were the tops cut off? I have a couple of Treasury size editions that are coverless. I used to work in a grocery store and when the new magazines came in, they would come in tied with string. The old comic books were used on the ends to protect the new magazines from being tied.

The store owners cut the top portion off and returned them for
credit on unsold copies. I believe they were supposed to
destroy the comics but somehow they popped-up on sale for 5 cents
each.
