I would say no, i've been able to authenticate signatures I got years ago like Kirby, Kane, and Nodell. The green label offers nothing.

I would say no. I love the red label. CGC green does nothing.

In my opinion, it as valued as good as a yellow label, if not the same quality, because the signature has been scrutinized.

THanks guys! I'm thinking of sending a cgc signed qualified book in to CBCS to get the red label.

The red is used for sigs which CBCS has determined through its third party experts to most likely be legitimate sigs. There's no negative conotation related to them at all. If CBCS has failed a sig verification it doesn't get slabbed.

I did an ebay search and all 3 books I saw had the signature noted on the first page. And yes the red label is not looked down upon it adds. The green cgc label is sort of a catch all something out of the normal is going on with the book. I don't even think of them in the same light at all. |

I have yellow and red and to me they are the same but your wallet is 10$ lighter to have a laser authenticate the signature. They are essentially the same and for value assure buyer and seller that the goods are authentic and the grade is as well.

Would seem to open up not a can of worms but a 55 gallon drum of worms. I am not suggesting that anything shady or dishonest is being done. However, there have been some spectacular examples of forgeries in the sports memorabilia field, for instance. Keep in mind that even experts can be fooled. |

Verification is a good service, not fool-proof, though. I am glad they were brave enough: someone should be. Though, I myselfam not into signed books. |

If anyone is curious, we have seen examples of books which have failed VSP, there's a thread in this forum discussing a fraudulent McFarlane Spider-Man sketch cover with fake McFarlane sig and fake Stan Lee sig which was put up on ebay.
