That's what I thought. That's why y should avoid cgc, unless you're trying to flip the book. Send in to cbcs and get a crystal clear slab if you're going to keep it.

Wish more shop variants would offer cbcs as an option... It maybe they know their odds at passing a 9.8 prescreening are better with cgc...

Ive Never seen or heard of the Newton ring issue with a cbcs slab before. Are you familiar with the Newton ring phenomenon and cgc slabs?

@comicsforme every CGC slab has those now to some degree. I just got a batch and they are terrible. Never again.

I think CGC and CBCS should inspect every comic before out the door.My first comics graded came from CBCS and i had one with air but only a few spots. Not like this .

It's not air. It's a bending of light waves as they pass through two different layers, and types, of plastic that are juxtaposed. It results in a prism-like optical effect.

There is no harm to the comic itself. It just looks bad.

CBCS slabs can have newton rings as well but it doesn’t happen as often because the CBCS isn’t designed to hold the comic via pressure like the CGC case is. In the event that a CBCS book does get newton rings, they can usually be removed since CBCS cases aren’t sealed all the eay around; just pry the plastic apart slightly until the outer case pulls away from the inner well, tus removing the ring effect

Wow, that looks more like Newton Pox! That’s about as bad as it gets. Most CGC slabs show some degree of Newton Rings, and I have seen them to a much lesser extent in some CBCS slabs.
