Dave Dorman? I don't know this guys work.

And since I'm now on the "no action comics 1000 artwork will ever live up to expectations"...superman looks like a kid...head is a bit square. Ans Loos looks like a man, baby.

If done right, this one had potential. Doesn't DC and the artists see what we see?

Just don't understand DC motivation on all these garbage covers.. No quality control on such a major event?

I don't hate this one. Do I like it enough to pay $20? No. Standard cover price, maybe.

dave dorman did most of dark horses cover work for their star wars books. the painted covers that is. and heavy metal covers and some interior work also. check out the covers for dark empire and dark empire 2 for reference. and met him at planet comiccon in February and heck of a guy. he is a fantastic artist.

Can't decide if I should be disappointed in these covers or relieved that I won't be spending a ton of money on them.

This one's growing on me. Good concept, good layout, nice execution. A bit off or unusual, but every artist has their style. This one is definitely better with repeated viewings. I might pick one up.

I think I will end up with 4-5 covers total, counting the blank one. I hope the stories are good.

And besides, I really hate the current trend of making Superman look like 70's Hulk. He's strong because he's from Krypton, not because he injects super-steroids three times a day. Sure, give him muscles. Nothing wrong with that. But no need to make him bulge out so much he couldn't walk through a door without turning sideways. So I like the more subdued 'Miracleman' look here.

Jurgens really needs to stick with pencils. Breeding’s inks always made him look awesome.

Well I had gone from buying 1 copy of 1 cover to zero. This one is the 1. It won!

Anyone know who the artist for this work is?

It is not an Action #1000 cover. That I know of.

This came to me in a package I received from a gift from my son, that I wrote about just after last Christmas. I get a package every three months for a year (total of four), and each package has a theme. First one was Batman. Second was Wonder Woman. This third one is Justice League. There is a card I scanned (below), that shows what was in this 3rd package. Best part is a double lined reversible Flash jacket. Yellow on one side and red on the other. It is a pretty cool jacket. Not cheaply made.

The package also included this art piece which is bigger than a comic book and stretched over a frame. I thought it beats anything thus far shown for an Action #1000 cover. But I can not find the artists name. It is apparently from China and labeled "Built by Culture Fly".

I don't know who did the art, but that Flash reversible jacket idea is brilliant.

Okay, I just looked it up ... Action Comics #961 cover B, by Gary Frank and Brad Anderson.

Ryan Sook. His stuff is really hit or miss. Look at the difference in quality here. Sometimes it feels rushed, and then sometimes its awesome art.

From Dynamic forces site. It says final art may vary. One can only hope. I'm starting to think this is intentional. All these artists and not one awesome cover.

I really cannot take any of these seriously. If this is the best DC can do for this historic issue, over saturate comic shops with a plethora of mediocre covers, they might as well fold up shop.

Another example (sorry if this one has aready been posted, They are so forgettable that I can’t keep track).

Bad....just bad.

Sheez. DC has got to be hiding something. Sounds like a well thought out plot to dismay, and then ....TA-DA....a big surprise.

You heard it here first....*winks*....
