SO I have some neat marvel legends reprints and unfortunately they have a slash through the "not for resale" text with a marker, probably a highlighter anyways they would display nicely in a slab esp the X-men 97 where the slash is hardly noticeable. But my question is assuming everything about the book is minty (9.8) what's the deduction (approx) for writing or markings on a cover?   |

| Pretty bad...probably no better than 8.0. Writing on the cover kills it. Maybe a 9.0. Depends on what they think. |

| @BigRedOne1944 & DocBrown I didn't mean these guys were mint, I just wanted a bar to judge the penalty for writing on a book. I've been a collector for many many yrs and I just started "slabbing" this yr and I'm trying to get a real feel for a grade before I submit. Your comments are very helpful and are appreciated. | ||
