Would you rather have the cover only of a rare monster key like AC 1…or would you prefer to have a cover-less copy of the comic? Condition being equal and all.

Neither. I want an original art page from Fantastic Four 186. |

If both were up for sale and could only get one; I’d choose the coverless copy.

coverless. a book without a cover is still a book as you can still read it. a book with out the pages is just a cover. feel the same with a comic. people want the comic for the content. not the cover |

Cover. No question. Because I’m not gonna be reading that exact copy anyway. The immediate visual recognition, gratification, and pride of ownership, for me, comes from the cover.

Cover for me. I have owned 2 copies of Action 1, and I have read them both a bunch of times. Can sill read reprints for free or cheap. It's great for trade bait for the person who has a coverless. And.....I think it would also look great framed with both sides glass so that you can turn it around and see the interior cover as well! ![]() ![]() |

I assume that coverless comic books are more common than the actual original covers. That and the prospect of slabbing would move me towards favoring owning just the cover. But now that individual pages can be slabbed, it kind of changes my thinking. If I were offered the chance to display a slabbed AC1 cover or a set of slabs containing all the interior pages, it might be a tough decision for me.

I wouldn't buy either. Paying all that money for just a cover or a coverless copy is just not worth it for me.
