Any chance of getting a signing event for HeroesCon this year? TONS of big names, and I have a couple dozen high grades still needing to be signed by Gerry Conway!!! Fingers crossed...

Rich Henn is doing Heroes Con - but he's with CGC for what it's worth.

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user

My Sales Rep Cody said he would be at Galaxy Con Richmond, Philadelphia, Fan Expo, Heroes Con, and NYCC.

He also mentioned other shows but they are outside of my usual range.

Great news! I'm looking forward to going to Heroes Con as well. Can someone explain what the process is for submitting books that I want to have signed at the convention?

I got my tickets. been doing cbcs table last 3 shows. plan on submitting 4 and seeing if they will correct a mistake they made (was told they might do free of charge since it was a printing error.) but if not then do the 4 submissions

dont see them on exhibitor list but sounds like they will be there

Unfortunately CGC signed an exclusivity so we will not be attending this year.

If you are planning on attending and need help finding a witness or facilitator for CBCS or if you want a promocode to save on your VSP, send me an email at Clockwood@cbcscomics.com and I'll take care of you.

Sorry to hear the news.

I really hope we can catch up at Philly or another show soon.

I just wrote an email to shelton@heroesonline.com. I expressed my displeasure with them giving CGC exclusive access to the show. I encourage all of you to do the same. No company not even CBCS should be given exclusivity to any venue!

If anyone needs a WITNESS for HeroesCon reach out.

Also, if you want to send in the order yourself reach out. I will create a promocode for HeroesCon.

I've never been to a con, but it's embarassing that he would give CGC exclusivity, especially knowing that there's a high chance they'll damage con attendees books. The market dictates what they can keep getting away with. Unfortunately people are weak willed or choose gifted grades and higher potential profit and keep letting them get away with this. If I had tickets I'd ask for a refund.

As I've posted before, I don't think CBCS should allow post 2023/serial #43 and above CGC slabs on the forum anymore, even if it's sharing new to your collection books. I'm not questioning anyone's integrity here or suggesting what to do, but next time you see a post sharing a newer slab, maybe consider not giving it upvotes. I even wanted to like one of the great @esaravo's X-Men #94 slabs he shared recently but couldn't do it, because it was a CGC #45 slab. Same goes for some recent Marks books that got phenomenal results at CGC.

You can always post the book, while cropping out the slab info. I think CGC should be treated exactly like PGX on the forum.

Please don’t bother Karla with this, this isn’t her area and she has quite enough on her plate.

I found this at the bottom of their website. Shelton is the owner of the store in Charlotte and the person who runs the con.

Yeah leaning towards using money I would’ve spent to grade to instead just buy already graded

Don’t want to risk cgc damaging my comics. Save them for I ever decide to ship or I go to a show that cbcs is at

shame, really wanted to grade my web of spider-man #1 and Venom Lethal Protector #1. But I dont trust cgc with my copies. I dont mind buying an already graded from cgc. but they have a history effing up submissions. maybe find already graded copies of the stuff I wanted to grade or ones I wouldve sought.

@power_struggle55 FYI keep an eye on the card shows they list as well. I paid $5 to get in to a card show last October and dropped off comics and cards and it was only 45 minutes from home. The event information will let you know if they are accepting comics at the show.

I sent Shelton a pointed email about the decision. I will definitely be looking for a CBCS facilitator for the show, as I will not do business with CGC again unless major changes happen.

Speaking of, when is CBCS going to start grading pulps? I have quite a few I would like encapsulated.

Years ago this happened at ECCC. Both CGC and CBCS were there in attendance one year. The following year, CGC signed an exclusive with the con for 2 years that essentially banned CBCS from setting up. CBCS actually attended and at the show did on-site grading and encapsulating (the one and only time I have seen them offer that) but not at the convention center itself, instead at a nearby hotel. I believe the following year CBCS did not attend, and I can't say I blame them because it was year two of the two-year deal that CGC had and they didn't want to be off site again.

Not the first time this has happened. CGC did this years ago at NYCC and CBCS had to set itself up at an off campus location.

thats what im hoping. they set up a table somewhere. like the park right next to convention. unless heroes con changes their mind or cbcs finds a reasonable solution. not gonna do a submission this year. use money to buy already graded
