Here's a quick update on the July 1973 Marvel UKPV adverts before I disappear for the rest of the month. I now have every July 1973 cover dated UKPV apart from Tomb of Dracula #10 which is too expensive to buy for research purposes. Three owners with a 6p copy have confirmed to me that the UK ad is not present however, so I'm going to go with that even though my golden rule is to confirm for myself. Here are the other eleven UKPVs which I can confirm do not have the UK specific advert: ![]() The four UKPVs that have the variant ad are: - Daredevil #101 - Fantastic Four #136 - Hulk #165 - Thor #213 I have pence and cents copies of each. Here is a summary for Fantastic Four #136 - note that in this case, the letters page makes way for the MWOM/SCW advert: ![]() For all four books, the remaining content is identical. In each case, the UK variant ad appears on the 33rd page / the eighth internal wrap. Here is the overall summary table which shows which adverts appear in each of the 16 UKPVs: ![]() There are three non-UKPV bearing titles that I've yet to check but it looks very much like there will be no UKPV ad pages in those, in error or otherwise, entirely as you would expect. I have some books on their way to me for other months, and time will tell if this was a one off thing, or whether it was repeated elsewhere. It's quite remarkable that this has evaded all of us for so long. I've owned some of these issues in the past, and am slightly embarrassed that I failed to spot any of them! All good fun. Be seeing you ![]() |

I thought it was worth breaking away from the sabbatical to post this picture of me and Alan Class at a signing in London earlier today. ![]() What an absolute Gentleman he is and we had a lovely chat about his life and legacy. I told him about my 'Alan Club' over the road and he was delighted to hear all about it. He's still amazed to this day that so many people care! I got him to sign the newly released Creepy Worlds #250 and dedicate it to the club members. What a time to be banned from it! ![]() He also signed the page of Nick's lovely book that includes my Creep Worlds plate set. ![]() What a lovely comic day, one of the best I've had in a long time. |
