| The who! Pete Townsend has influenced my beliefs and my song writing most of my life since the late 1960's. "We'll be fighting in the streets With our children at our feet And the morals that they worship will be gone And the men who spurred us on Sit in judgement of all wrong They decide and the shotgun sings the song" |

| Jason Isbell! The critics darling and an amazing song writer. Seen him a bunch of times in the last 8 years. If you want to see a great live concert, this is the guy and band to see! Best singer/songwriter/lyricist in the last 20 years. Not as great as Dylan or Costello, but still, friggin' amazing! "There's no such thing as someone else's war Your creature comforts aren't the only things worth fighting for You're still breathing, it's not too late We're all carrying one big burden, sharing one fate." |

| @GAC I got "Never Mind the Bullocks" when it came out and fell in love with it! Got to meet Johnny twice when he was with P.I.L. Love the Ramones! Saw them once at CGCB's and shared a cigarette with Joey at an Elvis Costello concert at Town Hall in NYC. Seen them many times.π€© |

Elvis Costello, the best lyricist after Dylan! Like a chainsaw running through a dictionary! ![]() ![]() "They`re hunting us down here with Liberty`s light A handshaking double talking procession of the mighty Pursued by a T.V. crew and coming after them A limousine of singing stars and their brotherhood anthem The former dictator was impeccably behaved They`re mopping up all the stubborn ones who just refuse to be saved..." |

@GAC I have had a most wonderful life in/with music and comics, I'm very lucky. NYC was a great place to be until the 10% took over and helped kill much of the music and comic scene!![]() ![]() |

Quote:Originally Posted by sborock_ComicLink It sad, happened with the art scene too! My father was an artist and our little town was 2500 people year round - nice art vibe, even a couple sculptors, then the theatre moved in - drew in lots of people to watch the plays...and fall in love with the quaint little town - now it's a theme park where no one can afford a place to stay! I know a few of the OG artists who are still alive and kicking and haven't fled town..but I mean...my dad would have been 83 so they have to be the same vintage. Not much longer and what's left of the soul of the town will be gone. Way back when I was a kid if your business didn't provide something for the townies you pretty much had to make enough between May 24th (Victoria Day up here) and 1st Monday of September (Labour Day) to close shop for the rest of the year or go out of business Happened to a few really fun parts of Toronto too! Gets harder to find (not being part of the 'scene' |

@KatKomics Yep! A damn shame! We can pay for a ballroom, but never our creative culture. It is the backbone of any civilized society!![]() Heck we pay our athletes and corporate advertising people way more than we pay our children's teachers or our TSA workers trying to keep us safe..... π€―And now our King wants to get rid of any free voices that he does not like and agree with. 250 years of freedom of speech, freedom of the press, with liberty and justice for all, is gone because of one sick criminal that needs and craves accolades, fame and power because daddy said "If you lose, you're a loser" which his father told him he was. Just another scared and scarred child that pretends to be a man. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| FYI...the ballroom is 100% funded by private donations....zero taxpayer dollars are being used. Consider alternate news sources ...mainstream media is partisan bias. |
