Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC? Scifinator private msg quote post Address this user
They were working on the CBCS 10th Anniversary Celebration Auction, and they had stated to get into that auction, which started on the 10th, one needed to have their comics into MCS's hands by May 20th. So, that was three weeks, and I wouldn't doubt that it may have created an additional backlog. Additionally, on their Facebook page, they posted that they had litterly been picking up truck loads of comics from around the country.

All that said, I have had thing ready to post in as little as a week or as much as 6 weeks. It is usually around 3 weeks or so.

It has typically taken 5-10 business days for MCS to get our books ready for pricing and we typically drop off about 100 at a time. @Scifinator is right though, they are extraordinarily busy so maybe add another week or so. Don't worry, they're one of the most efficient and customer service oriented businesses around, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out to anyone on their consignment team.

Like @figmant mentioned, their cust serve is very responsive. You will likely get a m-f response back from either Este or Andrea same or next day by emailing to: consign@mycomicshop.com.

I just handed over two cgc boxes of slabs to My Comics Shop. I met them at the interstate exit on their way back to Texas from Baltimore. Dropped off between 50 and 60 books.

A 45 minute trip to the exit versus paying for shipping and worrying about the delivery was more than worth it.

I send my books in to sell them at fixed price and I can tell you from tons of experience that the auction books jump to the front of thr line.

They've sat in boxes on my bedroom floor for at least two years. Another month or two wouldn't matter at this point.

How would they know which are going to be auction books before they are processed and ready for pricing?

What I am suggesting is that @EbayMafia has been mysteriously absent/silent for quite some time.

Where has he been, what has he been doing?

We must know!

Let’s be clear, of course he’s not the Head Grader at CBCS. But let’s have some fun with what else we can come up with for:

I am a new grader of sorts! I decided back in January that I wanted to finish my working career as a teacher at a local High School. I sold off many of my most valuable books to fund the transition time and eligibility certification program. I started substitute teaching in March, had a summer off (unpaid)and started full time teacher work at the end of July. Kids came back to class Early August and it's been pretty much 70-hour work weeks since then. I'm up at 5 am every day, get to the school at 6 and typically get home after 4. Still working Saturday and Sunday to prepare content and instruction. I will share more details when I feel like I've gotten out of survival mode. Hopefully that should be in a couple weeks when the first quarter ends and we get a weeklong fall break.

@EbayMafia you should've taught the same subject as @esaravo and taken all his lesson plans.

@EbayMafia - Good luck! I started a second career as a high school teacher at age 43 in 2003. First two plus years were exactly as you described. Now I’m 64 and retired after 20 years. And I’m still working on sleeping later than 5 am (EST) after so many years of getting up at 4:45 am to leave my house before the school buses hit my neighborhood.
