Looks like the scanner is picking up the interior heat sealed bag under the casing and it is causing the shading on the images.

If you ever see her at a con, check out her booth. She was at C2E2 this weekend, not sure where she's going next.

Ok everyone this book has a story behind it. I had my brother, Jason Rosa, build, customize and paint this resin model kit of the Fly and Jason got me the book to use for display with the piece.

Ok, so far I was pretty lucky with the cache of my husband's comics I discovered in the attic of his childhood home that were never bagged or boarded and stored in produce cardboard boxes.

Luck is fickle. So THIS came back. No I stopped checking them and was only sending in the one's that presented the best for sentimental reasons. But seriously, what was cut out? A Charles Atlas ad? X-ray glasses? Sea Monkeys? Magic Rocks? A seven foot tall glow in-the-dark Frankenstein poster? A subscription form? "Win a Bike" ad? Who really knows?

So here the book is...sigh...

All following also from the same attic. Grades seem very fair for these.

I just got back today the 30 books from Granite State Comicon 2022. I received notice of another order being shipped but this was listed on my comics.

What does an * mean? Upset also about the grade since this book was never read and I gave it white glove treatment and it had no indents, folding, spine wear, etc. when I submitted it. It must have stopped on its way to a rodeo or something during shipment.

@Element_Lad - Welcome to the asterisk club. It means that the book looks better than the grade it received. Usually this is due to some less than obvious defect such as a small, almost invisible stain, or some defect to the interior.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
@Element_Lad Adding to @esaravo's answer, it's an asterisk on the website and a check mark on the slab itself. https://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/14434/page/1/what-does-the-check-mean-over-a-grade/

@Element_Lad i wonder - about that 1.0 book with the ad page cut out, you could crack it and send it to cgc for qualified grade. (kind of like when a value stamp is cut out).

I another copy of the book in better shape. This was purely sentimental. Still, was it exploding gum? Stamps from around the world? To quote an old TV ad "The world may never know...".
