I have a Petrucci Majesty EBMM. Gorgeous guitar. Signed by him (though sig was rubbed off within a few weeks of me playing it). Somehow still cannot play like him…
He is amazing. The whole band is really. That's cool you have one of his guitars

My wife got me a great vintage Zenith record player for Christmas. Got this live Neil Diamond album from my son. It is a pretty good album being I am a metal head.

@DrWatson what's up them anyway. I read they have beef. They both drive bread trucks and they're fighting over crumbs. Sad

@drmccoy74 From what I understand, this is their beef. They had an agreement years ago that each one would not sell their publishing rights without consent from the other. One of them sold their publishing without consulting the other first. I believe this is their issue.

That's what I read. Oates sold or attempted to sell his rights and it breached an agreement between him and Hall concerning a first right of refusal, more or less.

I'm guessing we won't be seeing Oates performing at Daryl's House anytime soon!

Music is alot like Comic Books when it comes to bringing back past memories.
There was a time in my life when these were the two best American bands in my opinion.

I think the music is AWSOME, but the lyrics still are as much of a warning as it was in the 80's.
Sad, but so very true. "So, they kids they dance and shake their bones, while the politicians are throwing stones. Ashes, ashes, all fall down

I was finally able to find a used copy of Scott4 (Scott Walker) in 2023. IMO, one of the great "lost" 1960's albums and completely against the grain of 1960's music.
The Seventh Seal, based on the Ingmar Bergman:

We took our oldest daughter to see The National this summer in CT. Their new album (First Two Pages of Frankenstein) was out and I purchased the album. At shows pre-COVID-19, albums were generally $20 to $ 25 dollars; post COVID-19: expect to pay $ 30 to $ 40.

Question
What's more appealing?
Seeing a once great band that's now on its last leg?
or
Seeing a good and young cover band playing the same set as the washed up great band?
I'm torn
I saw Bon Jovi on the last tour and it was horrible.
I saw a Van Halen (Roth) cover band last summer and really enjoyed it.

Depends, Def Leppard and Iron Maiden are both very good in later years, however, I find that is not the case for most. For me personally, I like to remember them in there prime with a few exceptions.

@Rbolton same.
Saw Cheap Trick a few years ago and they looked old but sounded great.
I would rather pay half the money and see a Foreigner cover band than full price for OG Foreigner with only Mick Jones playing 3 songs and the rest is basically cover
