@sportshort that looks like a 0.5 to 1.5 to me… I’d happily pay more than $20 for it.

He's not looking to sell. I'll be happy to convey your generous offer - LOL!

I gave him a bag and board when I saw him a few weeks ago, he just had it put away in a box. Sheesh. Bag and boards were not a thing when we first started buying comics.

I think this would look so ridiculous I might have to buy it for when I'm cycling. What do you think?

Someone I don't know of was doing a singing at my lcs today. She was making me nervous, similar to if you mistakenly make eye contact with a homeless and they peer into your soul making it hard to resist giving them money. Has anyone else experienced this?

If you submit a book to be pressed and graded, shouldn’t the surface wrinkles be pressed out? Not hard creases but those gentle surface wrinkles you can see when you look at the book from the side?

Not if those wrinkles are printer's creases.

@DrWatson I thought that, but they are now. they look like handling wrinkles. I’m going to need to send it in to an authenticator who also offers pressing. I’m confident these wrinkles can be pressed out. The notes even say light creasing does not break color.

Is it light creasing in the grader's notes from the cgc? If so, those never seem to come out.

Haha, she actually started telling me about how she's doing a signing even though it was clear that's why she was sitting at a table with her work on display surrounded by multiple giant signs about the signing. She also said that it's ok for me to look through the long boxes first, as if I needed her permission, which I also thought was very strange (although I've been pretty isolated recently, so what's strange to me may be normal to others). Needless to say, I don't think her signing went as well as planned and I didn't buy anything from her.

She was just being polite and trying to peddle her wares.

I think they purposefully word the notes that way to encourage a re-submission.

@DrWatson I contacted customer service and told them I dont think they even pressed it.

Their response was "It was pressed. Feel free to pay for a new pressing and grading if you think the grade can be improved".

I'll be sending it in to a better presser who also does facilitating.

Got another email, they said “books are put through multiple passes of pressing” yada yada yada…

I’m not buying it. Sending it off to a guy I know who is a facilitator and a presser and cleaner. So I’ll see if I end up with a bump.

Almost certainly pressed.

I can paint a 10x10 room in 10 minutes. Or I can paint that same room over the span of 8 hours.

Outcome in both cases is a painted room.

Then imo, the quality of CCS pressing was poor. No way surface wrinkles should survive a decent pressing. It will take several months though, but I’ll post the regrade when I get it back. But before, it’s going to get signed by Frenz, then pressed. Should it come back with the same grade of 7.5, then I will apologize very publicly and claim that I am clearly not worthy of analyzing a book properly as compared to the pros.

Some defects that look like they should press out, won't come out. There's a Hulk #1 with a non-color breaking crease out there somewhere that's been pressed multiple times and the crease won't come out.

@DrWatson i hear you. I know I’m not perfect, and that’s ok. I’ve only been into comics for 2 years so I can definitely see myself being wrong here. All I can do is let it play out a see. Either way, I’ll learn something. To be continued.
