I'm reminded of 'Witch Fries' that were available in Japan in 2016. Sadly, I don't seem to have photos  but I'm sure a Google search will net something. My friend and I bit the bullet and ordered some and took them back to the hotel. They were fries with a pouch of chocolate sauce (!) and a sweet potato-flavoured sweet sauce (!!!) coloured either a shocking shade of orange or an equally shocking shade of purple. My friend got one, I got the other, and I don't think either one of us could discern a difference in flavour. I suspect it was one of the unhealthiest things either of us had ever eaten, and yet they were perversely yummy, due to the combination of sweet & savoury. |

Yup, that's them! That photo is only of the purple ones. There were orange ones, too. They were pretty messy and shouldn't have tasted as good as they did.  |

| @Jgwalters100 It's the unnaturalness of the colours as well, which is kind of off-putting. I doubt these would go over as well in the states as they did in Japan. They may even have been too weird for Japan, because they haven't brought them back since, to the best of my knowledge. |

| I've put worse things in my mouth than colored ketchup. As a kid in 6th grade I would eat anything with ketchup. They mixed ketchup and milk. It went down the hatch. Admittedly it was kinda gross |
