I wear glasses. I never could get used to contacts and surgery seemed kinda scary. I guess I'm old fashioned but glasses just seem the safer bet.....

Nah, I'm nearsighted. Reading is fine. I need glasses to drive, watch a movie, or check out the fast-food menu behind the counter.

Apparently the promo is too popular and it's killing the poor staff at McDonald's. =(

I knew it'd be popular, but this is over the top. Folks need to understand you're not bankrolling Jr.'s college tuition at Yale with hoarded Happy Meal toys.

They say the Halloween buckets will be even more popular than these cactus.toys.

I'm reminded of 'Witch Fries' that were available in Japan in 2016. Sadly, I don't seem to have photos but I'm sure a Google search will net something. My friend and I bit the bullet and ordered some and took them back to the hotel. They were fries with a pouch of chocolate sauce (!) and a sweet potato-flavoured sweet sauce (!!!) coloured either a shocking shade of orange or an equally shocking shade of purple. My friend got one, I got the other, and I don't think either one of us could discern a difference in flavour. I suspect it was one of the unhealthiest things either of us had ever eaten, and yet they were perversely yummy, due to the combination of sweet & savoury.

There are to many colors in that food for me. That's like the colored ketchup they had. I couldn't eat green blue or purple ketchup.

Yup, that's them! That photo is only of the purple ones. There were orange ones, too. They were pretty messy and shouldn't have tasted as good as they did.

@Jgwalters100
It's the unnaturalness of the colours as well, which is kind of off-putting. I doubt these would go over as well in the states as they did in Japan. They may even have been too weird for Japan, because they haven't brought them back since, to the best of my knowledge.

I've put worse things in my mouth than colored ketchup.

As a kid in 6th grade I would eat anything with ketchup. They mixed ketchup and milk. It went down the hatch. Admittedly it was kinda gross

That's the one my friend had. I got purple. Both tasted identical, or at least they did to us.

Some of the combinations kids come up with are pretty epic! To this day I still like peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. I'd add some cheese for that extra boost of oddness.

Oddly I can't stand pickles. They are not as bad as coconuts but they are pretty high on my gross list.

I suppose the question is what type of cheese did you add? Kraft processed or a real cheese?

The cheese needs to be the real deal. I usually used Jack or Swiss, but a sharp cheddar can be nice, too. As for the pickles, I used sweet or bread & butter pickles. The only times I used dill pickles was when I was sick (sinusitis), and my sense of taste wasn't the best. Then the dill pickles were pretty good.

Avocado & PB is great, and so is banana & PB. Of course, I think avocado and banana go great with darn near everything.

Avocado is YUM. Love it the most in guacamole, on toast, eggs benedict, or in a BLTA sandwich.

So. I went to McDonald's app to order a cactus meal. The McDonald's around me are all sold out in less than a week. Looks like it was a very limited time offer
