I love your book!

The red label looks great! Have you considered changing to the yellow?

@GAC - I did consider, but in comparing yellow labeled to this red label, i thought the red label just blends a little better and makes the Red in the title sweep and cosmos pop. So I am keeping as is. I made the opposite decision with my X-Men 100 as I thought the yellow worked better with the greens and yellows of that cover, so I re-holdered that.

no question the red label works better on this cover. Looks awesome! I always liked the red label but I understand why they changed it.

Mine is either Journey Into Mystery #83 or Fantastic Four #5. I "need" both, but I'm not sure which one I want to prioritize. It probably doesn't matter since I'd need the hobby to crash for either one to happen, so I'll get both.
Waiting...

I missed ordering Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #40 and while I can find it online shipping has made getting it prohibitive so I am hoping it will EVENTUALLY show up locally. Definitely not cool like the others in this list but it is my current white whale.

Nice! I've always wanted a copy of that book even when I just started building my collection. In your journeys, have you ever seen just a cover for that book for sale?

@Oxbladder is MCS shipping to Canada that bad? I'm assuming you mean the issue from 2019; they have at least a couple of NM copies listed.

Alan Greenspan talked about irrational exuberance. There is no Greenspan equivalent today. Greenspan was very late but eventually “got there”… not sure I even see where “there” is today.

When all the money flows out of these innumerable bubbles where does it go? Well, guess a lot goes “poof” …

With what Waller stated is happening with the Fed/Central Bank winding-down bond purchases combined with 2 to 3 interest rate hikes, I'd say we are about "there".

You can bet as Disney begins slipping x men intros into the cinematic universe, and we get in closer to actual release of the mutants project itself, that prices for those keys will only escalate and move higher. Alot will depend which team and set of x men are used, but the giant size seems like it will hold up regardless.

Two or three rate hikes from zero is really nowhere (depending on how bond and credit markets react).

I agree with you - markets are due… but we have a bailout mentality across the board.

I have exposure to many of the bubbliest of bubbles (Canadian real estate - probably #1, US real estate (meh where I am), equities, multiple types of collectibles, cryptocurrency (okay, this is #1), bonds).

So does everything correct, collapse, or shrug it off for another x years? I don’t know - I only have a good sense of relative risk within each of those. So while I hold some decent Marvel books, I will not be surprised if they drop 50-70% in value.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program?

@Davethebrave

Personally, I see a collapse. Maybe not in the next 12 months but maybe it will. The markets have been propped up artificially for too long. The pain should have taken place after 2007-2008 didn't happen. The cleansing got passed on and everyone seems to have forgotten about it.

I think we both know that the interest rate correction that needs to occur really can't without it causing serious decisions concerning the US budget. Interest rates going up means that what we pay others to buy our debt goes up. At the end of the day, it means smaller pieces of the pie for everyone and their agendas.

Anyone with common sense knows that interest rates need to go significantly higher whether or not those in power* want it to happen. That might be why so many people that have been in power of various things are headed to the door.

Its gonna happen and when it does things aren't going to be jolly for anyone.

* "Those in power" can mean lots of different things. Read into it what you want. My statement isn't a jab at a certain business, market, person, whatever.

@Towmater we aren’t really disagreeing. Time frames and scope / scale / duration are almost impossible to call. Just saying comics are a tiny slice of the story.

Long-term (20 years) I am more confident calling AC1 will be an 8 figure book (all grades) and that AF15 will not (in any grade). Within the next 5 years … who knows. Downs and ups … for some pockets more than others.

So long as people are financially responsible they can hold overpriced “things”…

But people aren't. That's the rub. It is what causes the situation to move into a tailspin.

Disney ruined my life but I agree the book is a strong one. It will be like the nandrolone of my collection come early January. The price is agreed upon. The owner just wants to wait until after the new year due to tax purposes.

Best of luck with the purchase...I still remember back in the eighties I had a copy of the book, kept it a week and traded it back to the LCS...then the store across town had one, and made me a deal so I got that one and promptly traded it off. Finally the store got another one in and I kept it this time, but all three copies were less than a hundred each..why I did not keep them all I keep wondering....and I feel it is still vastly underpriced for what it is.
I hope your buyback goes well and you enjoy the book...I am fairly sure a year from now you wont be able to touch it all
