CBCS GradedComics Bronze Age

New Highest Price in Grade15186

Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC? Scifinator private msg quote post Address this user
A new record price for an Alpha Flight #1 in the 9.0 grade has just been achieved. Looks to be substantially higher than any price paid for a 9.0 CBCS or cgc.

Amazing. I remember when a 9.6 was $60 and over-priced. Ahh, the good ol days.

Prices are all over the place lately. I think some speculators are fearing a crash and selling off en masse, and some collectors are willing to still pay outrageous prices on some books. I picked up 5 9.8 recent venom/King in black slabs for about 30 bucks a piece. Great covers, a couple of them more rare virgin variants as well that are selling for well above that, but the seller has been just bombarding his store with graded books that all end at the same time so the bidding is spread around a little more and it's easier to "snipe" some auctions for cheap.

It was probably the 9.0 but looks like a 9.6 in the description that did it for you.

Usually a bold statement like that in the description will carry the laundry.

Even weirder that your CBCS 9.6 at auction sold for less than that.

@crystalphoto there are still plenty of deals out there, you just have to look a little harder for them. Hipcomic I've seen some nice books at low prices, and ebay I'm still grabbing up some nice slabbed and raw books occasionally(I just have to look harder...and have saved search notifications when something pops up).

Yard sales and lcs back issue bins etc don't seem as fruitful anymore, but over the winter I did pick up a ton of dollar per book issues of asm which I then sold a good bit of off for 5+/book.

that’s the way it goes sometimes. my Spider-Man 1 (1990) newsstand & Strange Academy 1 9.8s both barely broke $100. I sold another copy of Strange Academy 9.8 for $140 (Win!). Watched Spider-verse 1 Walmart cover for a while. all were selling +/- a few of $100; mine sold for $56. All of these had tons of views, watchers, several bidders, and auctions ending on the weekend at similar times. It sucks but I didn’t loose money.

I sold a couple DD Volume 2 #9 (first Echo) on MCS. The CBCS 9.8 sold a while back for about $850. Last week the CBCS 9.6 sold for $330. I think those were high water marks for MCS, probably not Ebay though. I have another 9.6 in this weeks auction, currently only about $170.

Sold this Previews bound-in editon at $320 via the MCS eBay Store. There is a Plasm O that sold for over $500, but that was the 1 Staple Variant which was sent out promotionally.

Obviously there would have been many mor thousands of the bound-in edition printed, I wonder how many of those are still in existence as opposed to having been thrown away?

Definitely an error in the data or maybe you made a typo with the issue # or grade?
