A couple of my saved searches have been trashed but others are fine. None involve a category name, so that's weird, but maybe they should now.

Look at the 1st paragraph in the release statement from Ebay: "This is to provide a more intuitive buying, selling and search experience." Ahhh yea... and I'm Santa Claus Am I supposed to laugh now? Ebay Marketing (actually any Marketing) is the same line of work as the P word (not allowed to talk about it on here). |

They can't just be trying to drive me nuts, they must expect some overall benefit from it. |

@EbayMafia If I had to give a wild guess, it may be productivity related for Ebay. Perhaps there is additional software support needed for the retention/support/upgrade of the various categories? Whatever the internal, real reason is, I don't think it's for their customer base as an improvement initiative |

I figured they see certain types of certain things either aren't moving or aren't searched, so they're doing us a favor by showing us things we didn't know we wanted when we searched for those things we THOUGHT we wanted (but by all means, still buy those too).

As a surprised seller on eBay when all my listings changed categories, I can only see one slight advantage is if I list a run of issues that cross say from Copper Age to Modern Age it won't be missed when searching. As a buyer or when I compare to sales prices it was a mess before and is worse now. Try finding the correct volume of Daredevil #1 that you are looking for. Was it Silver Age, Copper Age or one of many Modern Age now all grouped into the same category. For those sellers of CBCS certified comics the Certified item specific is missing and when making a listing one of the choices is Comic Book Certification Service - CBCS but it won't accept/save that choice when you click on it. I was able to click on CGC though.

The issues/problems in the search are ... y'know... just a figment of our imagination. And if we all forget again, just repeat the mantra again : "This is to provide a more intuitive buying, selling and search experience." I feel so much better now. In fact I feel the search is improving right before my very eyes |

Ebay reminds me of the wounded animal that bites its own tail trying to stop the problem ....over and over. They seem to be losing market share fast to amazon and facebook sales groups etc, are slowly leeching away more from them. A slowly dying dinosaur, we await the next step in the online sales platform. |

not cool. I have stuff up for auction or best offer with a minimum offer set at the auction starting price. suddenly im getting offers WAY below the starting price (who would even think to do that on an auction?) AND any time I try to counter offer I get an error message. defiantly just missed out on some sales. so I guess Ebay now just monkeys with yer settings?

eBay has been changing my sales settings for years. Gotta watch them like a hawk. I had a guy repeatedly sending me offers below auction start. I had not turned offers on and never do for auctions. |

I just listed about fifteen Strange Tales books (silver & bronze age). It takes a little longer to fill in a couple more boxes but my biggest pet peeve is that the unused boxes keep showing up each time I re-use the template. I liked it better before when only the categories that were filled in last time appear. A lot more scrolling up and down now. The more complicated they make things the easier it is to screw something up. |
