Small tear question14099

New to grading. What’s the estimate on this back page tear? Any hope for a decent grade? Everything else on the book is perfect.

I wouldn't grade that any higher than Fine/Very Fine. The color looks a little off like it could be color touch.

I think the lighting makes it looks like color is off but isn’t. Just the small crease / tear that breaks color. Could it be a printing defect? Looks to go through a few pages.

Some schools have that as 0.1 off per page torn with some upper limit that i do not know.

I have a couple of 9.0s with a back page tear. However, it's the back cover only and none of the interior pages. If that is a modern book, I might look for another copy unless it holds sentimental value.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
Looks like Wolverine 88? Everything Wolverine and Deadpool is hot right now but the book probably isn't worth slabbing for sale unless it's 9.6 or better (maaaaaaybe 9.4), and the tear takes it lower than that. Unless it's a newsstand, which everyone is also paying a lot for these days.

I hadn't seen what this is going for these days; I should get mine out and take a look.

It looks more like it was damaged due to bundling than a printing defect.

Is is a Non Deluxe Variant Wolverine 88. I may just sell it raw. Doesn’t make sense to add the extra cost of slabbing.

The bundling defect makes sense. They’re going as high as 600+ for a 9.8 and they’re still pretty easy to find in Wolverine lots.
