Big JB remains my favorite artist of all time. This statement was just put out from his daughter Dianne Buscema and wanted to share with the forum for those that might be interested. Ill be purchasing for sure.

“The Art of John Buscema"
FPG is thrilled to announce that in 2022 we will be publishing, in collaboration with the Buscema family, a 350-page retrospective on the career of the magnificent John Buscema!
John is absolutely one of the all-time greats in the comics field, and we are extremely excited to present an in-depth look at this legendary artist. This book will take you on a chronological journey through John's life, showcasing hundreds of his fabulous works of art—nearly all of which will be reproduced from the original artwork, many for the first time ever.
Release of "The Art of John Buscema" celebrating John's life and work is slated for early 2022.

This makes me really happy.

I’d give my left arm for a comic signed by him or some original art by him.

I’ll have to get this book!

His mid to late 80s work on Avengers was amazing!

I would sure be interested.

I have a copy of this one stashed away somewhere. Of course it's nowhere near as elaborate as the retrospective being released a year from now.

@Jabberwookie
I checked all the signed SS #4's on the CBCS Verified census. I think I have the only one signed by all 3 creators (including, of course, Big John B.)
Buscema was alive during only the infant years of CGC, so I don't think any of their signed census has all 3 of these guys on a CGC graded signed SS#4

He lived in Port Jefferson, NY and I'd see him in the comic store often when I was in college.

I doubt I'll own a signed comic, but I do have a page.

One of my all-time favorites as well! His Defining work on Conan is the main reason I have assembled a Conan run

@Nuffsaid111

Dude!!! That’s awesome!

I often kick myself for not going to conventions when I was younger to meet several of these creators that I enjoyed.

JB, Dave Cockrum and Marshall Rogers are just a couple who come to mind.

Not to sound like I’m giving advice, but I hope you never sell that book!

@Siggy

That is incredibly cool. I never was into Conan much, but the artwork alone would make it worth it.

He was a really good guy. Family first... always brought his grandchildren to the conventions on Long Island.

I had inquired from him an opportunity for a re-creation of this SS #4 cover for $300 in the late 80's. He was ready and willing to do it for me. In the end I couldn't afford 300 while in college in late 80's. That was alot back then for any student. Darn

@Nuffsaid111

I’m just speechless. It sucks to miss an opportunity like that.

I have dozens. Not having $70 to get Hulk 181 back in the 80s. The GSX for $20 that I didn’t have.

Why can’t kids have unlimited funds when they unlimited ideas and goals???

Anyway, that’s a really cool story and an amazing book!

Congrats!!!

I have a few big John pages in my collection along with brother Sal. What I like best is the creative process John uses and how freely his genius spills into a page.
Check them out here.
