Are these Newton rings ?12579

Hi all I’ve just been going through some slabs that I haven’t looked at for some time and came across this on the back of Moonshie 1.

The front appears fine but the back seems to have a black oil slick in parts ?

I’ve done a little google search and newton rings normally appear multi coloured or am I mistaken.

If not newton rings any other suggestions.

yup those are Newton Rings. The design of the current CGC cases makes them a relatively common occurrence.

@dielinfinite @Studley_Dudley Thanks for the quick replies. In a strange way I'm glad that its not another problem.

Stay safe all

This is my new favorite. It was graded, sent back for newton rings and this is what came back. This happened in May, I believe, and was shared on the CGC boards..

I'd give the lady in the Louvre painting a 4.0, as far as hot chicks go. The Newton Rings are not a detraction at that grade. Danger Girl, somewhat higher.

That is insane. People paying a premium for soft-graded CGC books when they often end up looking like that just blow my damn mind.

customers = these oil slicks look horrible! are you going to fix these?
CGC = shut up and be happy we graded your book - there is nothing wrong with our holders!
