WEEKLY COVER CONTEST 206 - Your favorite cover12567

Collector* Towmater private msg quote post Address this user
WEEKLY COVER CONTEST:

You vote three check marks for your FIRST favorite
Two check marks for the SECOND favorite
One check mark for the THIRD favorite.
You do not need to vote for three covers, but it is strongly encouraged!!! Let's have fun with this!!!

A new theme will be chosen each week, so participants must find a comic book that fits the theme

- One entry per person.
- Must be real comic books in circulation.
- Magazine size books are also okay.
- The book does not have to be in your collection.
- Variants are acceptable.
- The previous winner is allowed to win in this contest.

Each week we will vote on who had the best cover.

- Friday begins the new contest.
- Wednesday at 12 noon EST is the cutoff which starts voting that will go through Thursday at 11:59 PM EST.
- Please vote through the built-in "three check marks" system.
- Don't vote early.
- The winner will be the cover with the most check marks.
- Vote three check marks for a favorite, two for the second favorite and one for the third favorite.

The winner will choose the next theme and begin a new thread.

In the event of a tie, the deciding factor will be if the entry was of a book in a CBCS slab (only one book in the set needs to be graded; if multiple are CBCS graded then the highest grade applies). If both books are in a CBCS slab (or neither are) then the cover with the most three star votes wins. If they are still tied, then the one with the most 2 star votes wins. If the tie remains, then a sudden death contest will decide the winner. All tied contestants are to enter a new cover based upon the theme of that contest. At 9 pm EST, Friday, the cover with the most votes wins.

Re-post these rules in your new thread to keep them easy to find and for new folks who want to play.

The list of previous contests and winners can be found in a pinned thread on the top of the forum.

Comic covers mean something to each of us for any number of reasons. Post your favorite comic cover.

This first comic book I remember buying at five or six years old. Still my favorite after all these years.

This cover is my favorite. Love crime books and when I saw a picture of this cover back in the early 90s I knew one day I had to get a copy.

This was the first comic book series that I "collected" and bought each month, and #3 was my favorite issue. I cringe remembering how I stored them, upright in a square wicker basket! But I loved my comic book collection. Super Friends, Laugh-a-Lympics, Richie Rich, Superman, Flash ... mostly all I do now is try to buy perfect versions of all the comics I had then. (And all the ones I couldn't afford!)

Ok. This was near impossible. I love SO many covers!!! But I decided on this one. I was a Wolverine fan and I loved his first solo title. I thought this cover was so awesome that I painted it on my bedroom wall (with my parents permission). So, I guess I gotta go with Wolverine #1.

I’m loving the subject choice for this week. I have 4 in mind, hoping to narrow it down to 1 before I return home Tuesday night from traveling.

This isn't the first comic I owned, and I'm not sure it's even the first X-Men comic I started collecting, but it's the comic I associate with starting to collect X-Men.

Way to many to choose from.. This has boggled the grey matter.. so I went to Michael Turner's Superman/Batman #8
