Yeah, USPS has been spotty at best. The red flag that gets my anxiety up is when you're tracking something, and all you get is "Arriving On Time," which guarantees that no, it's not. I sent some others in already, so I'm not totally out, but this was the one I really wanted signed. Oh well, next time I supposed. |

I ordered a sheet of stamps from USPS because I didn't feel like going to the actual building. Ordered at the end of June. It came in yesterday "Priority Mail".

Here’s a good one. My package arrived in town yesterday 8:00 am. It went to two hubs in town yesterday, obviously I expected it today. Nope! At 1 pm today it arrived in Cleveland.

I am wondering, will these delays affect the condition of the package once I receive it?? Will the package be shuffled around, banged up, beaten about!?? Something to consider.

So I have a package that has been in Province RI for 6 days now...this is like a hundred gazillion miles from where I am! ![]() Was expected nearly a week ago, but ongoing message is "in Transit, Arriving Late Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility". I am so pissed! |

@brysb I had a package from @poka that hit Chicago and then was in limbo for like 2 months Before it arrived at my door. during this time I submitted a mail search request that was unsuccessful to say the least; 2-1/2 months after delivery I got search request update that they are unable to locate my package🤦🏻♂️ I was upset about The possibility of losing what was in transit. Not the wait. Ordinarily I’d be incoherently yelling at someone on the phone about where the hell my package is and what chowder head in Chicago lost it!, But we live in strange times and they are doing their best. |

@HulkSmash, my package sat in Chicago for a month on that one. And in Chicago they are roast beef heads.

@brysb yes I did get it. @monjoody I am a patient person. Normally this would have really fired me up though. during the time there were unexpected delays due to rona and usps was overwhelmed. |

I had an order from MCS estimated for arrival tomorrow but it made it today. A FedEx shipment that was estimated for yesterday should come today. They were both pretty prompt though.

In case people are wondering why their packages are running late, it's due to the current pandemic. The postal service and other carriers are slammed with packages, but at the same time, some post offices are understaffed and some distribution centers are either running on limited staff or closed completely. First Class and Media Mail are affected the most during this. Priority and Express Mail for the most part are still being processed on time. So what would normally take 3-4 days for delivery for a First Class Mail package could take upwards of a week or longer. This isn't always the case, but is the standard right now. Packages can and often do sit in distribution hubs for a greater length of time as well. I shipped a package from Seattle to California First Class Mail. Normally that takes about four days tops. Generally the main distribution hub gets the package here in the Seattle area gets the package the same day I ship it, and then it gets processed out there late that night or the next day. It took over a week for it to finally get processed and leave the Seattle area, and another five days to reach it's destination. So people need to factor in extra time, simply be patient, and if you are shipping anything out, you may want to opt for insurance if you don't usually use it on parcels just in case because the chances of it getting damaged or lost is a bit greater now during the Covid-19 crisis. |

package from NJ to Hong kong. during past week has been sightseeing NY/NJ. the only explanation which makes sense is that USPS tried to ship it from JFK but gave up and instead moving it to Newark![]() |

Delays are going to get worse they say. For what it's worth if you have a AAA membership, you get 5% off at The UPS Store locations.
