My weekly picks have not been as good as they normally are this year. But I have made the playoffs in both of my two FF leagues. The first is a "competitive" league run by a friend that has a small monetary implication to winning. I won my first round game last week, so I'm in the semi-finals. The second is a "fun" league for my extended family that is only for bragging rights. Only four teams make the playoffs, so this week is the first round and the semi-finals. I won the family league last year, so I would love to repeat and be able to needle my siblings for another year.

I'm taking the Bills on the road because the Steelers aren't particularly good offensively and the Bills D should handle them with Josh Allen doing just enough to squeak out a victory for the visitors. The NYG are my upset pick. Can I really say that for this game? The Giants are terrible, and the Dolphins have been playing better ball lately. Going with the G-Men at home. Every other game should be business as usual.

@michaelekrupp Are we doing 44 again? See if we can tie two weeks in a row?!

@comic_book_man I’m thinking a little higher scoring game this week. Also thinking the Lions are going to come through with a win at home this week. They sure need to do something to wash away the unpleasant taste that this season has left in everyone’s mouth. It will be interesting to see what changes are made at the end of the year. I don’t know what to hope for. I don’t necessarily want to see them start over, but it is undeniable that the team is going in the wrong direction. The only thing I am sure of is that I am likely to go to less games next year, if any. Football tickets are far too expensive to go down there to see a losing team.

A few games worry me and I dont have 100% confidence in...NYJ vs BAL, JAX vs OAK, ATL vs SF, MIN vs LAC, and IND vs NO. There is a few aspects of those match-ups that I just don't know how to process fully so I'm taking a calculated guess. Sort of an apple vs oranges scenario. I want to say that the NYJ linebackers are punishing and Jackson is a risk factor while sitting on a guaranteed playoff berth - back pedal? Or they show up ready to win and destroy the Jets like they are a high school team. We shall see!

@comic_book_man The Jets were overmatched by Cincinnati last week. Baltimore could start their backup QB and still roll them.

@comic_book_man NYJ over BAL is a bold move. If they pull it off, I'll send you money to buy me a Powerball ticket.

At this point, some of my picks are based more on wishful thinking than stats.

@Jesse_O you're either expecting a low scoring game on MNF, or a 28-0 blowout by NO.

Moderator Jesse_O private msg quote post Address this user
@Pre_Coder looking for a blowout. Plus, if I somehow miraculously manage to be in the lead or a tie, I wanted a low number. I just don't see the Colts managing to get more then 2 or 3 field goals. If they make the end zone on an offensive play, it'll probably be because of blown coverage from NO or from fouls against NO keeping the plays alive. Given enough chances, even the Colts can score from the one yard line.

Last meeting in NO the Saints won 62-7. Brees only needs 3 more td passes to pass up Peyton for all time leader. It wouldn't surprise me if it happened Monday night.

@Studley_Dudley This NYJ vs BAL game is a head scratcher for me. I cant go wrong picking the Ravens, because everybody on earth agrees, so I really wouldnt be losing. But, I would kick myself too hard if the Jets win and I had an inkling.

I should just pick the Ravens, but I'll roll the dice. I'm 50/50.

I feel good about these picks. Also, 2 of my 3 fantasy football teams made the playoffs with 1 of them making it through the a semi final playoff game last week. Wish me luck.

I am going to be at Ford Field for the Buccaneers/Lions game Sunday. My wife bought them for me as a birthday gift awhile back. What was cool is she bought a ticket for one of my best friend to go with me. We used to frequent downtown Detroit and Greektown all the time. We should still have fun even though neither team is making the playoffs. We used to go to a lot of Indy Car races and F1 races back in the day. Lots of good times.

@BrianGreensnips if you go into the casino for a while you can park at Greektown for free and walk to Ford Field. Beats the hell out of paying $50 to park close to the stadium.

Yeah, I have not bought parking tickets yet. I was thinking about doing what you suggested. That has worked for us in the past for Tiger games. One time we caught a shuttle from there and you can pay them what you want(like $5 per person) All the parking on-line was ridiculously expensive. I hope this plan works Sunday.

Jets are gonna get embarrassed tonight.

I'll probably go to bed at halftime.

@BrianGreensnips You can park for free on the street in Detroit also. You may have to walk a few blocks to the stadium is all. I never pay for parking when I go down there. The cost of the ticket is ridiculous enough.

I'll try to make up for my Jets decision with DET, CHI, and ARI underdogs. All 3!

I'm more confident in them than the Jets, who was more of a 50/50 gamble for me to get a pick ahead...now behind.
